I can't imagine a transfer without Rosalie, Patti and Jonathan. They were a staple of this production. The others were absolutely fine - but I doubt they'd be on the consideration list.

A balloon dress? WHAT?! I don't understand. An actual dress made of balloons...? What?

The set is steps... with the band on the highest step and large blue/white letters of EVITA! The designer had an easy job 😂 Ooooh how interesting, I’ve seen a photo and it looks like they’ve gone for the “no set” look. It looks very festivaly but I was hoping for a more traditional Argentina set Link?

And cast Rebecca Trehearn as the Fairy Godmother. Her Impossible will sound amazing. Just cast Rebecca in anything and everything.

Opening on Broadway next year. I love Six. But this is a small fringe/off-Broadway show. It's seventy minutes. How will they justify running it in a Broadway house..with these prices? And Xanadu, Chorus Line, Drowsy Chaperone and Come from Away are different? Lol Yes, they are actually. A Chorus Line is around two hours and Come From Away is 90 minutes.

It's hasn't been re-written for its American premier in Chicago, and I have a feeling it won't be for the other productions coming up in the North America. It's done "in American" and it seems to just work out.

Casting a Latino man as the hero of the show, and Audrey - a character who is a victim of physical and verbal abuse - played by a black trans woman, is inspired. This production has LAYERS, people! Plus...Mother Blanca is wonderful and insanely talented.
The Off-Broadway cast is top notch. But compared to ambitions of the Pasadena production, it brings nothing new to the table.

I'll be in town and would love to see it - but I'm not sure how the free seating at the park work.

The Pasadena Playhouse cast is SO much more interesting. Take note, Off-Broadway.

Has anyone got a full list of the numbers in the Broadway Production? I've tried combing through the BroadwayWorld board but all anyone can seem to talk about it the restricted views and Wiki only has the Boston list. Something tells me it's the same song list. I haven't been keeping up with the BWW mssg board, because as you said, all they talk about is the seating. But what I gathered is that it's the same show from Boston. It doesn't look like they made any adjustments or changes. I could be wrong, but I'm sure someone would have pointed it out by now.

woof.
On that note..does anyone know why the last Phantom had long hair? And did he have long hair for the entire show or just the final layer?

^ I don't think it's a Cinderella per se. The Britney Spears one is more of a hodgepodge of all the basic fairy tales but with a twist. Yes, it's as awful as it sounds. But I'm still going to see it.

There are many reasons that would make him open it in NY. Follow the money. His investors are probably in America, from America. I wouldn't be surprised if his investors are also theatre owners and would want to get their theatres occupied. You saw that there was over ten shows that closed on Broadway in a span of six weeks. Theatres need to have their next show lined up. Just because he wrote the music, it doesn't mean he's putting much money behind it. The reason why he flew in so many people from the US to see it at The Other Palace was probably to showcase it more for investors and producers so he can option it or license it a producer. This way he'd make his cut upfront without having to be burdened with producing or financing it.

They really need to stop making Beaches happen. It never worked in any of its two previous incarnations. And Lonny Price can barely get a decent revival of a tried and tested show up, let alone a musical that's in trouble to begin with.

As far as final nights go, this was a rather warm farewell and wasn't full of the crazy fanfare that is normally the norm in final nights. A few thoughts: -Not the most powerful cast. No one really stood out. Closest thing was Elan Skye as Eponine..though I really needed to get readjusted to a white Eponine again. She's a little Kerry Ellis in the making. -The leads..sorry, Bradley Jaden was practically invisible as Javert. -Overall I was a bit disappointed with the lack of diversity in the cast, especially with the students. They were all white men of the same age who practically had the same heigh and body types. Also...though this is a period piece in a different era, a bunch of straight white dudes talking about the revolution just does not sit well with me in 2019. -Staging as brilliant as always. It still works, and everytime I see it, I say it must have been really radical and groundbreaking in the 80s if it's still looking this good. -I noticed a moment right after a Heart Full of Love where Eponine and Cossette have a moment. They lock eyes as they look at each other across the gate. I never picked it up before and I have to say it's a great moment.
Lovely meeting nice new friends from the form and having a chat over the complimentary champagne!

Just saw it tonight. Well this Judas can sing, can't he? This is probably the most concept JCS I saw. For the first act I thought, okay, the director outsourced all duties to the choreographer and left all the drama out, but it occurred to me by the second act that this is 'on purpose'. The costumes are hilarious, and it looks like the wardrobe department raided Lulu Lemon and dressed their cast in it. Overall, the star of this show is the singing, and if you're in it for the score, then it delivers.

So I might have news about the final performance. Creatives WILL come in and make speeches, including the original directors, etc. Champagne will be passed to the patrons. It will be filmed for archival purposes but not for commercial release. I heard the rumour about it being filmed but if CamMacProd is interested in making money off it why on earth would they not release it. Copyrights/distribution, etc. it’s costly to release it and the sales probably doesn’t justify the cost. Also.. I don’t know.

Did I post this before? Anyway...I learned that they will be filming it for BroadwayHD (or one of the streaming sites) in London. It will be the full London cast except the two leads will be from the US.

Look what happened with the Color Purple debacle/disgrace! If enough people rattle cages(figuratively speaking),anything’s possible. These two cases aren't the same. For starters, with Color Purple, there was evidence that proved the star was homophobic, ignorant and who said words that could hurt a community. I don't think the same could be said about this case. It's a dispute over intellectual property and the public aren't privy to any of the facts or timeline of events outside of what both parties have disclosed. TBH, I don't think the two 'original' authors have much of a case. It seems that Tree has taken a completely different route from what originally intended. If I were them I would have opted for a small royalty and a "based on an idea by Tori Allen-Martin and Sarah Henley" credit. TBH I find this entire affair really boring. I'm only posting to be contrarian and because it seems like the topic of the moment.

I wonder how this going to pan out Cancellation of show Court case Protests during the performances Resignation ? I think this sounds extreme and none of this is about to happen. It's a dispute that seemed to have gone public. Someone will get paid off and they'll settle. Or not. It does not come across as a crime or transgression great enough to cause an extreme outcome.

There's nothing wrong with her in the right roles. The problem is it seems producers just think they can stick her in anything now. I wasn't convinced seeing her as an American teenager trying to get in Harvard. I wasn't convinced seeing her as a Jewish vaudevillian trying to balance her career with her love life. There are no right roles for her in musicals.

Please dont take this the wrong way but if dont like Sheridan why on earth book to see the show? It's been clear from day 1 that this was going to be the Sheridan Smith show. I booked before they announced it was Sheridan Smith otherwise I probably wouldn't have I was thinking of getting tickets when I saw cheap front row seats. If anyone knows me at all knows that my cause is to bar Sheridan Smith from committing further crimes against musical theatre. By going to see Joseph, I can reaffirm my disposition towards The Smith and spread awareness of the injustice producers create as a result of casting her in a musical.

I'm sure it'll go on tour. I think Rachel York would be a good Star. Saw it in Chicago and was so upset that this is the best they can come up with, with Cher's amazing song catalogue.
