What do we think about the place-holder? In the Angels dayseat queue recently the bloke at the front left when another bloke arrived and took his place, so Bloke 1 had been keeping the spot for him. From previous discussions of this I get the impression most people have no problem with it but it bothers me. Bloke 2 arrived some time after I did but still got first place. I don't like it! Don't have a problem with it - one out one in, leaves me where I was to start with. But in the case of, say, this Angels queue, if Bloke 2 arrived at what was obviously his preferred time without Bloke 1 placeholding, he'd have arrived after me and I'd be one place further along. So it wouldn't be a straight swap.

Something a little different now; Bad behaviour by an EMPLOYER. Bloody hell. That is a play.
To be honest, you could have posted that in the "How was your day?" thread, you know. Or maybe if someone starts a "Stories in which insects play an unpleasantly prominent role" thread.

Regarding late arrivers joining their friends in dayseat queues, I agree this is not on and have politely approached people who've done and asked them to see how unfair it is to the people who got there before them. On one occasion, I think it was the Rylance Twelfth Night in the West End, the girl who joined her friends was so chastened into glum-faced silence, she left and never returned. The other guy who'd approached her with me said he felt really bad. I told him not to be so ridiculously soft, while we weren't telling her to get lost we were absolutely right to ask her to move to the back of the queue. We didn't think she'd leave completely but she was probably being realistic as she wouldn't have got a ticket anyway by that point. Ah well, that'll learn her.

Just seen that people in Barcelona started queueing yesterday for U2 concerts this Tuesday - I don't like queueing for more than half an hour for anything (part of the reason I only go to NYC once in a blue moon is the damn queueing for hours at passport control) - why the hell would you go somewhere like Barcelona just to spend three days dossing on the pavement on the off chance you'll be a few feet closer to the stage than anyone else - its not like Bono comes out flinging Euros into the crowd. Get a life - enjoy where you are, see the sights, have a proper experience. To varying degrees I've arrived early for general admission gigs to get a spot on the front barrier, but I've never done it 3 days in advance! What the U2 fans were doing is extreme but it doesn't mean they don't have a life.

What does the Nunn wear on his feet? I'd like to think Denim pumps You'd hope, or think - he's practically made of denim. But on this occasion it was trainers.

I'm glad others have flagged the thing about people mid-row taking forever to get their stuff together, chatting casually away while others are frantically trying to get out. In particular, if you're not in an aisle seat you can forget any hope of doing the as-soon-as-lights-go-up toilet-dash. Or of catching that earlier train.
Talking during an overture or worse, not even an overture - carrying on talking simply because the on-stage dialogue hasn't started yet. Definitely actionable.
As for the audio-described thing above... appalling - yes, well done that manager.

Having just joined this board it's strangely comforting to see this thread revived. Of course, the genuinely comforting thing would be it remaining empty because all the bad behaviour has stopped!
I've only skimmed through a few pages but noticed the usual food mentions and was reminded of an "I'll see that and raise it" exchange in the old board's thread - the mentions of unacceptable food consumption escalated to the point where someone said they'd seen an audience member flip open the lid of a big flat pizza box and start eating the pizza slice by slice, only to be trumped by another poster saying they'd seen someone open various steaming cartons and begin eating a curry and rice.
There's been mention of some clothes removal which made me think: I've noticed Jan Brock posting here and wondered if she'd weighed in yet with her perennial account of a shirt-removing bare-torsoed Nicholas de Jongh sitting there blithely during a production. And which still fills me with horror to this day.

A bit late in to this, I'm not sure if all the brouhaha/kerfuffle/furore has died down, it might already have been mentioned but it's slightly irksome there are so many references in social media to "fanboy" rage. There is plenty of it, but I've seen loads of similarly negative whiny reactions from women.
While I've liked Capaldi I've recently felt the show as a whole is in need of not just the new start of a regeneration but a general all-round kick up the rear end. A female Doctor will go some way to achieving that but it will need strong stories and scripts and, I feel, a jarringly, maybe shockingly different kind of companion. It'll be really disappointing if the automatic reaction is to have a male Bill or a fresh-faced Clara-boy. Whatever happens there though, I do hope that really is the end of Bill as I found her very annoying.
A new showrunner is of course also a good thing on paper but I've heard a number of fans saying they don't rate Chibnall and have low expectations.

I didn't think it was that bad, it had its moments but yes it was rather overheated.
Both Cotton and a note-taking Nunn in the audience then ligging about at the interval. In a major, shocking departure from his usual attire, Nunn was wearing a slightly lighter than usual shade of denim shirt. I almost didn't recognise him.
