I saw the matinee on Saturday and I really enjoyed it! A really strong cast that will get even better over time as they settle into the show. As some have said already, Carl Man is a brilliant standout Fiyero. Very charismatic and full of the swagger. Donna Berlin as Morrible was also brilliant to watch. As aingidh has said, I too loved her subtle huffs/sneers during her stage time (especially in Thank Goodness"). She's one of the best Morribles I have seen and really nailed the villain role. I actually really liked Sarah's Glinda, although I can definitely tell she will grow more into the role as time goes on. Her "Thank Goodness" was brilliant, probably one of the best I have seen. Casey was a great Elphaba - her expressions were always on point and there were no sign of nerves considering this was her debut. There were a few slip ups/things that didn't go to plan that we picked up on. Chistery's wing got stuck on the back of the Wizard's mask at the end of "Wonderful"'s scene change so a crew member had to rush out and unhook him. Casey and Sarah appeared to miss their cue at the start of "One Short Day" - not sure if this was as a result of costume changes or something else but they recovered well. The bottom of the lion cub's cage fell open when Carl lifted it off of the table so when he was racing across the stage with it, it flapped around like mad, which everyone found funny. Sarah's necklace flew off during her entrance down the stairs at the start before "For Good" - again, she found a subtle moment to pick it up and put it back on. All in all, I'm glad I got the chance to catch it and think it'll have a fantastic year run on tour.

Does anyone have an idea of what the prices will be? Considering doing the ATG pre-sale tomorrow.

Just as an FYI, Jodie Steele is NOT Regina lol Quite sad about this as whenever I listen to the cast recording i can visualise her in the role perfectly, haha! But, as backtothetheatre has said, she's a bit old for Regina and she has changed agencies to focus more on screenwork. Will be interesting to see who gets cast! I was thinking Grace Mouat might be a nice choice for Gretchen perhaps?

I'm so glad this has been brought up as I have also a Three customer and was in London in June and August and on both occasions I struggled a lot of the time with signal. Very frustrating. I had assumed that because Three shares signal with Vodafone (I think?) that it would be a lot better but apparently not.

Well sadly you may not get your wish. A new production starring Ramin Karimloo is coming..! As a Ramin K and a Jekyll & Hyde fan I need to ask if this is actually true or just a joke I second this!
I heard a while back that there was plans to bring a "new" reinvented production of Jekyll & Hyde that was much darker than previous productions, but haven't heard any fresh news about it since so this is interesting!

Is this a not-so cryptic hint that this may very well move theatres and extend?

I enjoyed it ok in London but it did feel very panto-like. I probably wouldn't pay the inflated prices to see it again, even with ot being more local. I'm sure it'll go down well with families though.

I came across this video of the song "My Dad" yesterday and really enjoyed it. The young child actress is brilliant - I reckon she could easily be a Matilda after this performance.

I really don't think the movie is truly responsible for the show closing. As people have already pointed out, a lot of people didn't even know it even existed as it's never been widely promoted or even advertised on streaming services (I found it on Apple tv but had to search for it specifically). The overall mood and tone of the show is probably not what people were rushing to go and see when coming out of a pandemic, plus danb makes a great point that once you've seen it, there's no real incentive to see it again. I just think DEH has just naturally come to the end of its run, with a smaller target audience compared to other shows and with the not so uplifting storyline.

I did a look up on the website and the domain isn't registered to any known entertainment company. The lack of any official branding makes me just a little suspicious. I would hold off on any major excitement just yet. Hmm...that is a bit suspicious. Feels a bit like what happened to Finding Neverland. They had a website advertising it was coming soon and had you sign up for priority access and then nothing came of it in the end. Although, of course, we now know this was due to the Weinstein case, but still.

I am so excited by this! Do you reckon it'll go into the Dominion in November after Grease? Nederlander own the Adelphi and Aldwych but can't see Tina announcing closure...not sure how well Back To The Future is selling.

I haven't seen this musical before either however seeing this today piqued my interest. It'll be very interesting to see how this is brought to life and done (hopefully) well! Sounds promising!

Saw this last night and I was not impressed. Sure the cast is great and I'd like to see Tutty again. I found the book to be plodding and the score in the 2nd half was poor. Such a shame as mental health deserves much better.
I agree with your point about the score in the second act. It felt very much the same throughout. Pacing was definitely an issue too.

I must say I was disappointed when I read this was heading into the Dominion. This show just feels very outdated nowadays. The Dominion seems to be the one-stop shop for cheap, lack-lustre productions to fill in the gaps and it's such a shame. I guess better than an empty theatre but I do hope at some point another new, exciting show comes along soon.

I saw this for the first time this week and I must say I was a little disappointed by it. I feel it's been over-hyped. I thought Sam Tutty did an amazing job as Evan and believe we'll see him in more big roles in the future but overall this show just wasn't a big hit for me. I'm glad I got the chance to see it but it's probably one i won't see again.

Managed to finally catch this on Tuesday evening and loved every minute! Such a fun, uplifting show with great humor and wit throughout. The whole cast are very strong. I definitely wouldn't hesitate booking for this again!

They'll probably wheel the much too old Jodie Steele out again... not that she's bad she's just far too old. I would imagine someone like Christina Bennington will go in again as Veronica. Jodie has just been confirmed as being cast in Gatsby at the Southwark Playhouse in December so I think her time in Heathers is officially over.

Georgia Tapp is debuting as Cinderella this afternoon! CHF performer earlier at West End Live but posted on IG about losing her timing and forgetting choero so I wonder what is happening there! From what I gather she lost her timing and messed up her choreo because she couldn't hear her track. The sound isn't always the best at WEL anyway so I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. I think she did well to cover it up considering.

This sounds similar to the pop-up shop in Covent Garden a few years back, but perhaps on a larger scale?

For a musical claiming to be fresh and modern and 'woke' (for want of a better word) They seem to be very outdated. Like when ALW “modernises” a show by sticking an awful rap in it.
*shudders* Don't remind me of that ridiculous idea.

New production photos have been released. Looks like they've tweaked the costumes a little, with different skirts. Jodie's blazer looks the same, but I believe the other three are different styles.

Was there not talk about Six going into the Criterion? Although I've just looked and Amelie doesn't finish it's run until 25th September, which would mean Six would have to take a month's break if it were to transfer there.
As for Mean Girls, the Savoy does make sense.
Pride and Prejudice (sort of) booked into Criterion after Amelie.
Oh, that's a pity!

I’ve seen better amateurs than Sheridan Smith and Amanda Holden. Hamilton is generally not a great show. It was the hype and subject matter in America that made it a hit (and his previous shows). Love Never Dies Australia (characters aside) is a gorgeous show. Carrie, Dogfight Big Fish and Eugenius are better than most West End shows. It’s a travesty that we haven’t had a Frank Wildhorn show on the West End, Scaet Pimpernel on Broadway was sensational. Hello Dolly is a weird show with dated material. Grease is misogynistic. Why should Sandy conform? Les Mis and My Fair Lady are painfully long. No one wants a first act more than 1 hour 15. Waitress is dull with 3 decent songs. Six is too short and needs 3 extra songs now it’s more of a success. Kinky Boots is a average show with 3 songs and doesn’t end properly. Harry Potter the play could have been done in one part. Wicked in the UK with the English accents adds class to the story and makes glinda a toff and it doesn’t work. “Darrrncing through life?” It’s PAINFUL. Terrible decision. It totally ruins the show in comparison to Broadway. I would argue that shows that seem painfully dated or misogynistic now are still good museum pieces that show a ‘journey’ of where we were to where we want to get to. Cancelling them is the same as ripping down statues or burning books. ...and act one of ‘Hamilton’ is pretty much flawless. It is the rest that drags.
Totally agree with you about Love Never Dies and Frank Wildhorn!

WDW is not that expensive , people complaining seem to go to it every year. Australia has no luxury hotels (maybe why I think WDW is not that expensive) Disabled people are treated badly in Australia London is better than NYC I'm not sure what your criteria is for measuring luxury but I'm pretty sure there are a few hotels in Australia that fall into this category. There's The Langham in Melbourne, Park Hyatt Sydney and Crown Towers Perth to just name a few.
Why do you not class these as luxury?
