Collette and Zara have now also confirmed they'd be leaving today too! EDIT:Hana too now! I guess that means just Sophie and Lexi continuing, as they’ve not said anything yet. What about Jaye'J? Or did she already announce something and I missed it?

For someone who is a huge MT fan I'm really not an ALW fan in general, but I do love the score of Evita (with JCS being a very close second).

i think Nicole was in the bottom 2 for every challenge and she wasnt even mentioned as a possibility of going home, yet Matt had the best pattern win and Liz won best Couture. That made no sense. I think Claire is so dull, but i suspect she'll win. I actually had to check that I didn't write this post because every word of it sums up my thoughts exactly. Claire has definitely been the most consistent so will most like win, but I'm not really a fan.

Totally agree with xanady, I have seen this show too many times to mention and with countless Mrs J's and for me Stephanie Lawrence will always be the one to beat. She was simply divine in that role, such a talented lady gone too soon. Sorry I know I should have just quoted the original post but I didn't know how to go back and add a quote when I was editing.

Nope, the poses weren't scripted, the only thing specified in the script was the order of the line - except our director had no creative vision and basically just copied everything from the film version. I did enjoy Jason Tam's performance in the revival and also Mara Davi's, they were definitely the two standouts for me.

I absolutely LOVE A Chorus Line, but I definitely prefer the movie to the stage show. I'm not sure why that is. I've watched the movie too many times to count and I've seem it twice on stage (London and Broadway revivals) and have also appeared in a production myself playing Maggie. The songs are sublime and the cheesy 70s/80s dancing and music is to die for. BurlyBeaR is right, Every Little Step is essential viewing. It's been sitting on my Sky+ box and years and I've watched it over and over, to this day I still don't agree with some of those final choices. LOL!

It was in Sinapore in 2013 (there is a very short trailer of the production on YouTube). I love Sally Ann, but I must admit I was a bit nervous that she would struggle with the score but she blew it out of the water. She was a fantastic Diana, giving a nuanced performance which broke my heart. She's got that lovely raspiness to her voice that really worked for the more gentle songs, and her comedic timing was spot on. Shame it was never filmed.

Interesting that you say that about Marin Mazzie (RIP). I saw her play Diana on Broadway and from clips I’ve seen of Alice Ripley, I much prefer MM’s more understated and utterly heartbreaking performance. I absolutely loved the show and it’s one I’ll never forget ( particularly as some of the subject matter was very close to home for me). I wonder why the license has so far been withheld for a UK production given it’s been produced in a lot of other countries ? It’s hard to imagine who would be the right casting for Diana over here. My nightmare casting would be Jenna Russell, Hannah Waddingham or any of the Menier Choc Factory repertory company. And God forbid Trevor Nunn getting his hands on it too 😱. I was fortunate to see both Alice and Marin in the role and I'm still sad that Marin wasn't eligible for a Tony nomination for her performance in that show. She was remarkable and heartbreaking. As for a London Diana, I know that Ruthie Henshall, Sally Ann Triplett, Joanna Riding, and Jenna Russell are all desperate to get their hands on it. I assume there will be others, but those are the ones I know about through having conversations with them. I must admit, I saw Sally Ann play the role overseas and she was stunning as Diana.

Bernadette Peters has the acting range of a three-speed blender, and the blender might be a better singer. I LOVE her, but never seen her live in anything, but that's still funny! I saw her in Follies and A Bed and a Chair on Broadway and thought she was stunning in both - but sf's opinion still made me laugh too. The best thing about this thread is that it's making me feel better about not loving Hamilton. It was like The Lion King in that the first 10 mins are the best thing about the show then it's all downhill from there. I have never understood the love for Kerry Ellis or Kristin Chenoweth. I am desperate for Next to Normal to come to London - firstly because I love it, and secondly because I can't wait to see the bloodbath that will ensue when the West End leading ladies start fighting for the role of Diana. Talking of Diana, Marin Mazzie was better in the role than Alice Ripley.

I suspect it won't work like that, not least because of the difficulty in enforcing a hard border around the 32 boroughs, but it does seem that very serious consideration is being given to a multi-speed lifting of lockdown throughout England. I mean we're still in lockdown up here in Scotland and wee Nicola is a like a red rag to a bull anytime someone mentions Boris' 'Stay Alert' slogan. . She is determined to do things on her own timescale and regardless of what people think about her politics at least she is being firm and confident in her approach to releasing the lockdown, unlike Boris.

Haha! That's ok. I was just hoping you'd seen something I'd missed. I'm pretty certain that it will be back - in the zoom thing I watched with the cast and creators yesterday they were all talking about season 2 and what songs they all want to sing, etc.

Can I just ask one to two more things? I know the show is set in San Francisco but does anyone know if the whole this is actually filmed there as well? It's just that having visited I know that some of the outdoor scenes are definitely in San Fransisco? So I was wondering if it's all filmed in the studios in Hollywood, California and then for the outdoor scents the cast members relevant to the scene are just flown up? Sorry for the double post, for some reason it wouldn't let me edit the previous one. Anyway, I now have an answer to this. I'm just watching a zoom thing on the show's Twitter feed and Lauren Graham just said that the show was filmed in Vancouver - I'm assuming she just means the interior shots if you recognise the outside scenes as being in San Fransisco.

The MOON, outside, right now! I was doing the same. I had came back my dog walk and was in the garden dancing my heart out to Kylie's 'All The Lovers' whilst staring at the moon and stars. It was just beautiful tonight. Luckily my garden isn't overlooked or my neighbours would have thought I was nuts.

I do love this little show. I can't sew to save my life but I admire these guys who can whip up an outfit in 90 mins or whatever. Joe is growing on me, but I definitely still miss Claudia.

Not sure about the filming question, but Bernadette Peters is in episode 11. She's in a few scenes so it's not a blink and you'll miss her type thing - she's awesome in it.

This Wednesday on E4 is episode 10, and there are 12 episodes in season 1.
n1david, where are you seeing confirmation of a season 2? All the sites I'm looking at just say they are hopeful for it. Fingers crossed you're right cause I absolutely adore this show.

Dog-grooming 'salons' seem particularly prone to silly names. Near where I live in Glasgow are Pawcasso and Glamour Paws. The latter is particularly irritating, because the name is clearly a play on "glamour puss", and a puss is a cat, not a dog. There is a dog groomers near Glasgow called Captain Dugwash. Cracks me up every time I see it.

I sat next to Julie Walters during a performance of Wicked many moons ago. I'm a HUGE fan so I could barely concentrate on the show, and couldn't believe my luck when she spoke to me at the interval because she saw I was sitting on my own. All I could could get out my mouth was 'our birthdays are on the same day'. Hahahaha! She was lovely though, which was a big relief to me.....never meet your idols and all that.

The stall in Glasgow were pretty well full on Tuesday night, the first night. This surprised me, since I wouldn't have thought this show had such pulling power. So maybe people had been moved down from one of the circles. I was there on Wednesday night and I was at the back of the stalls with about 5 full rows to myself. Bliss! The middle of the stalls was only about half full. An enjoyable little night at the theatre, the cast were great and there were some really funny one liners in the script.

I saw this in a half empty theatre in Glasgow tonight. Having seen the OBC on Broadway (and loving it) I was excited to see it again. However I was so disappointed in whoever was playing Gloria (cast change announced by a mumbler so no clue who it was), but she was about 6 ft tall, had no trace of a Cuban accent, and her ability to dance left a lot to be desired. The rest of the cast were fantastic and I still loved the songs, but I just couldn't see past the lead. Also, I'm almost positive that they've changed parts of the book from Broadway. There was the a whole section in the hospital where she was depressed and blamed Emilio and banned him from seeing her.....where did that story arc go?

JCS at the Barbican and Company. Two things I doubt I would have seen once without this board, and because of this board I saw both of them three times. I’d give a kidney to see either again. I second that. I wouldn't have seen JCS at the Barbican without the amazing word of mouth from this board. It was simply stunning, so I thank you all for that.

Another vote for the original production of Starlight Express, it was the first show I saw on my first trip to London and still holds a special place in my heart. Billy Elliot (I think I didn't enjoy Hamilton cause I blame it for Billy closing, even though that's irrational) Blood Brothers with Stephanie Lawrence (damn, I miss Stephanie Lawrence) Miss Saigon at Drury Lane Les Mis at the Palace The Bodyguard with Beverly Knight Witches of Eastwick at Drury Lane Pajama Game at the Shaftesbury Dress Circle
