There’s a bigger/smaller/different story here that isn’t being shared by her. Either Lin is too gracious to highlight it or it might be worth hearing. Either way all I can smell is sour grapes from the ensemble member. It's more like bad wording on behalf of the PR and marketing, and no, 90% of the potential audience for this will not mind. Lin just isn't clarifying the inaccuracy. Javier Muñoz, meanwhile, is.

Oh boy! The caption and comments here. Whew. I did laugh at the comment: They should rename it to "Hamilton filmed on stage featuring the Original Broadway Cast! (Except Betsy Stuxness as "ensemble member")"It's also missing Emmy Raver-Lampman.

I was able to enjoy it but don't really see why it's such a life-changing story! I am always wary if someone tells me: this show will change your life. Happened with RENT I remember. Found Next to Normal quite underwhelming and full of wasted chances, my friend (who works with mental health patients) found it quite annoying and wrong - we left at intermission. The only thing I took from Dear Evan Hansen was: you can't believe anything on the internet - something I already knew before the show. So life-changing shows are not for me...people may get a different look on life, but a real change - I doubt it. Any show can change anyone's life for any reason. Just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't for anyone else. However, anyone who tells someone else how a show will affect someone else's life is similarly misguided.

Had one of the creatives sitting beside me at the matinee yesterday. No idea who he was. It was rather annoying as he kept checking the screens and making notes on an iPad. All very distracting. However, really enjoyed Marcus’ performance as Evan. I much preferred his acting of the part and also his voice. I reported someone at intermission who was repeatedly on their phone in a box seat the first time I saw The Book of Mormon in Philadelphia. Turns out it was a member of the creative team! But they certainly didn't cause a disturbance in act 2.

I think it’s to do with touching ones face. We supposedly do this an obscene amount of times every hour and wearing a mask is literally a barrier between mucky fingers and the gob You learn something new every day betty . So, why go to the expense of a gauze mask? One of those plastic things for kids would work just as well and cover everything but the eyes... Plastic gets sweaty and can be bulkier to carry around.

I'm not sure whether this is bad behaviour or etiquette or what ..... Two Chinese girls sitting next to me at today's matinee of Jamie were both wearing face masks which they kept on for the entire show. I wasn't aware we had been transported to Wuhan. Sorry to be flippant, but I think it's insulting to infer that our audiences are so plague ridden that they can't attend a show without masks. I live in Birmingham which has a large Chinese community and number of students. I often see them walking around in these face masks and they did so well before the recent events in Wuhan. I think this is just a cultural thing. Incidentally I saw some English girls of student age wearing a face mask yesterday.
Yep! You see this fairly often in midtown Manhattan (lots of Asian tourists) and Flushing, Queens (lots of Asian immigrants and their friends/relatives from Asia visiting them). It's not about YOU.

Sometimes it means someone who's in the ensemble but can be taken out of it as needed and it won't affect any songs. They don't have individual lines. They can also be in the ensemble AND take over a more featured role in the same performance.
There's currently an onstage swing (the more common term here, I believe) in The Book of Mormon on Broadway who covers all the female Ugandan roles and a few of the male Ugandan roles. She is also in the show every night, but if she has to play someone else, it won't be a problem with re-allocating lines.

fOR A YOUNG up and coming writer of musicals... maybe the 1789 French Rev could be a good subject to choose.....
Marie Antoinette the tragic heroine.... and Louis 16 the weak minded king....
..... could be a brilliant Musical.....
or maybe Lloyd Webber and Tim could come together for one last bash and pull off a masterpiece......!

got to admit I used to think Les Mis was based on the french revolution of 1789 ... but of course its based on the Paris Rebellion of 1832 Many people did. And some people who even read the clarifying text in the opening of the 2012 movie still do.

Wait, THAT Roman Holiday?! That had a mixed-bad reception in San Francisco and the Broadway engagement was canceled? Huh.

Great for Rachael if she's heading back to New York, is she not involved with something broadway bound? Will definitely try and see her one more time before she goes! I know Jenn Colella either left recently or is leaving the role on Broadway. Wondering if she might be going to do the role on Broadway? She left so recently (November) that I don't imagine Becky Gulsvig (who replaced her) would be leaving so soon, unless it was a great opportunity that came up. www.theatermania.com/broadway/news/interview-jenn-colella-leaving-come-from-away_90126.html

Has anyone been distracted by the way this is performed in the concert style? It’s largely played to the audience apart from some very rare moments where the characters look at each other or direct their singing to someone else on stage. I just thought it looked odd for someone, for example, dying in someone’s arms to be singing out to the audience instead of looking at the person holding them. It seemed incongruous all the way through really, and I couldn’t get past the fact that they were all very much in character without actually interacting with each other. I also found the artifice of the mic stands at the front a bit distracting when they were all wearing microphones. Sounds bizarre. Glad I didnt' go! It's not like it's different from any other Les Miz concert from the past 20-30 years.

It's an edited version- how much I do not know as I didn't listen to the full thing, but where Michael flubbed "there is nowhere I can go (instead of 'turn'), there is no way to go on...", it is now corrected. So probably a mix of an earlier recording and the livestream night. Might give it a re-listen on iplayer sometime... What about "and where the hell did he run" when it should've been "and why on earth did he run"? Gave me a chuckle both times I saw it in the movie theater.

It reminded me of the quartet at the end of the Phantom anniversary concert. If you didn't know a decent amount about Phantom, you wouldn't have known who some of them were.

The people behind me got in a short debate about that too — one thought she was Irish and one thought she was American!
