Would have loved to see this - but I was too slow. All sold out.

Lloyd Webber did a closed workshop of Stephen Ward at The Other Palace a few months ago. Michael Xavier played Ward. Ah thanks, that's really interesting. Would love to see it again. It sort of sinked without trace in the West End. Book needed sorting and I wasn't a fan of the set really. But the ALW melodies I thought were generally fabulous and I often listen to the CD. After seeing MX in Sunset he certainly would not elevate it.

Evelyn Hoskins singing "How 'Bout A Dance" is the stuff (my) dreams are made of.

Evelyn Hoskins singing "How 'Bout A Dance" is the stuff (my) dreams are made of. And Dyin' Ain't So Bad! And Evelyn and Rebecca Trehearn singing You Love Who You Love!

If anyone without tickets can make a Wednesday matinee, they've just released tickets for a 1pm show on Wednesday 28th.

I'm there tonight, don't have a badge mind but do so hello!!
I think I'll be there early so I will pro either be having a drink in the bar or the pub next door as not going to go home after work.
Looking forward to it, long time since I've seen a workshop.

So glad I was able to see this - hope it leads to a full production - it has such style and class with great songs and lovely humour throughout - you almost want them to get away with it! Like others I reckon southwark or the Menier would be ideal - in my view I think it would work better in a more intimate venue - best £15 I've spent in a while 😀

I was there as well and loved it. Evelyn Hoskins and Jamie Muscato were ideal - wonderful individually and, especially, together. Hoskins' "Dyin' Ain't So Bad" was shattering - she was born to play this part. Rebecca Trehearn and the rest of the twelve member cast were also excellent but this show is about the leads and they delivered. We need a full production of this terrific musical - with this cast!

I went on Monday and enjoyed my evening, some of the book is sluggish at times but it's score is strong and this has got a fantastic cast doing this workshop.
Evelyn is such a star, I knew it from 'Carrie' l. Did you all feedback via the app after the show??

Fabulous - I’ve been waiting on this ever since I saw the work in progress at The Other Palace - as a minimum I’d like Jamie moscato and Joshua Denver to play the brothers - but accept time has moved on ...

I'd consider it a criminal offence if Evelyn Hoskins isn't cast as Bonnie again.

The workshop cast were brilliant and I would be very disappointed if many of them, not least the two leads, weren’t in this production.

Various producers have been trying to get this off the ground for years. One even got as far as finding a theatre for it, but then it got dropped.
It needs to go somewhere small. Will this be the first Wildhorn show produced for the west end?

To be honest if you looked at the same website at the start of this year you would have seen them say it's coming in summer 2019......which clearly it didn't, so i feel like i'll believe it when i actually see an announcement. Let's hope they can get it off the ground though and 2020 isn't just another unfulfilled promise.

The Arts Theatre seems to be booked for many a year.
So if it does happen, bearing in mind what Andy above said, then I would think it would be the Other Palace again, but albeit upstairs.

That would be brave of the producers considering how sales for tours of little known shows has been going recently.

We saw an amateur production of Bonnie and Clyde at Southend in March and based on that experience I'll be booking Bonnie and Clyde as soon as it's launched, if it actually happens. Good score with several strong songs
The two leads are on stage almost continuously as I recall so a "name"as Bonnie Parker would help initial sales, eg Carrie Hope Fletcher who's about the right age.
Incidentally there's also an amateur production at the Cramphorn Theatre in Chelmsford from November 12 - 16.

Thank god that never happened after her terrible turn in Chicago

So the DLAP Entertainment website has been updated to read “...and the UK premiere of the Frank Wildhorn, Don Black and Ivan Menchell musical, Bonnie & Clyde (in development).” whereas it previously said about the West End followed by a tour.
