I assume they are releasing the tickets month by month to keep the demand high (which I agree, is annoying if you want to plan ahead), so out of curiousity had a look to see how the London production is selling compared to the New York production (which is currently on sale until November). Picking a random Tuesday in June, it's quite disturbing to see that a row D seat in London costs £100, while a similar seat in New York is priced at $749 (non resale).
Also, why are New York still allowing resale? Can they not implement the same ticketing practice as London has, or does Ticketmaster make too much money from the official resale? At least 80% of the available tickets for the date I looked at are resale, and as high as $2,500.
Sorry again if I'm going over old ground here.

The ticket prices in New York are absolutely absurd. Hamilton is a fantastic show. It, however, is not worth $749 (and then some!). I’m sure someone would disagree with me but it’s so bad how inaccessible theatre can be.

I know I asked about ID before, but I don't think I asked this. Is there an official list of ID the they will accept at the box office?

The official site's FAQs section says: "a Government-issued photo ID such as a driving license or passport as proof of ID".

I got my tickets this morning for July, and ended up getting row A centre stalls, 24 and 25 (I decided to set myself the limit of £75).
It wasn't that simple a process though as Ticketmaster didn't let you choose your seats at first, and kept offering me more expensive seats at the side (despite narrowing my search). After about 10 minutes of refreshing - to the point I was about to just leave it - it eventually offered those row A seats.
When I went back on an hour or so later, they were letting you choose your own seats. To be honest though, I probably wouldn't have chosen any differently (I would have considered the £57.50 box seats Theatremonkey mentioned), but I can understand how people might panic buy seats that wouldn't have been their first choice. Anywho, thanks for the advice guys!

The front row seats are great actually, have sat there twice (not from winning the lottery, but from buying them the day before when they've obviously had unclaimed seats!)

I don’t think they have ever publicised how many people win per show, so no way of knowing the odds. At worst I’d have thought 1:500 if there is a pair online and a pair on the day at the theatre but don’t really know.

I was today looking at entering the lottery. Does anyone know what are the chances of winning each day ? I'm now about 400 entries in and have never won. Now, obviously you can't work out much from one data point, but I'd guess you're much closer to a 1:10,000 chance of winning than 1:500.

I went to see it again on Tuesday. Enjoyed it but not as much as in previous visits. Jamael Westman, Rachelle Ann Go, Tarinn Callender and Jon Robyns were great imho. The rest were a mix bag.
We had 3 understudies. Ellena Vincent was on as Angelica and her performance was disappointing, her vocals were all over the place and sometimes in the wrong key. I think she has the potential but needs lots of work for her Angelica. Waylon Jacobs was on as Lafayette/Jefferson and he did a decent enough job but I still missed Jason Pennycooke. Finally Stephenson Ardern Sodje was on as Laurens/Philip, he was good but I prefer Jack Butterworth take on the role.
Lots of problems with the sound. The music frequently drowned the voices. The dancing wasn't as slick as it used to be, sometimes it looked like every ensemble member was in a different show. The resident choreographer is not doing a very good job at the moment.
I enjoyed it but not as much this time, I'm afraid.
Noticed quite a few empty seats in Stalls but it could be people not showing up. Also when we arrived at the theatre, while I was taking a photo of the cast board, there were quite a few people buying tickets for that night, they were being offered tickets for £37.50 or £57.50 but I couldn't hear where the seats where located.

Not long outv of matinee. Not quite the same awe as first time but still great. Waylon Jacobs on as Burr. Didn't really have the singing chops but otherwise I liked him. Ava I'm afraid is not in the same league as Rachel for me. I loved Jon Robyns as King George and the guy who played Washington who's name escapes me.

Went back again last night. The show always comes across as better from the centre of the front row (booked when the tickets first went on sale), despite the high stage. I don't think many lottery winners get front row any more.
Shockingly, all of the main cast were on.
You pick up on all kinds of things up close, like how obvious Jamael Westman's wig is. Still yet to see anyone other than Jamael in that role.
The new cast have grown on me. I thought that Courtney Mae-Briggs did a great job as Maria Reynolds.
The crowd was pleasantly subdued and it even took much longer than usual to get the standing ovation going. I did get the impression that everyone around me was a repeat visitor.

This pleases me and tempts me to give Hamilton another go. I went twice early on and the audience "we're in the club" hysteria and laughing a microsecond before the punchline of WHAT AREN'T EVEN JOKES was awful, and massively distracted me from appreciating the piece in it's own right.

That definitely isn't happening anymore judging by the audience when I went a few weeks ago. There were a lot of repeat viewers around me but no annoying hysteria. It was my first time back since cast change and I think the show has lost a little bit of its magic. It's still very good, and actually seemed a bit slower as I could catch more of the lyrics (maybe I'm just used to them now!), but for me there was a noticeable difference between those who were part of the original cast and those who had come in at cast change. Sharon Rose was on as Peggy/Mariah and I thought she did a great job, but I wasn't impressed with Allyson Ava Brown as Angelica at all - maybe she was ill, but she didn't even attempt half the notes both Rachel and Miriam used to do, and I didn't think her acting was strong either. Satisfied fell completely flat for me. I enjoyed Jon Robyns as King George - played very differently to how Mike Jibson used to do it but it worked well. We had an understudy Laurens/Philip but I didn't get a chance to look at the cast board and didn't buy a programme so don't know who it was - whoever it was, he was good. I still haven't seen anyone other than Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza and she just keeps getting better. She and Jamael are still great together, and he still seems to be changing up his performance in places as well, which is great to see. Sifiso's Burr has really grown on me and I thought he was excellent - a bit more of a playful interpretation than I've seen him do before. For the first time, I actually liked Jason Pennycooke's Lafayette/Jefferson - no idea what's changed but something clicked for me this time. Tarinn Callender is as good as ever. Overall the ensemble were fine, perhaps not quite as tight as the choreography used to be, but that seems to often happen during a long run. It's just lost a little bit of the original sparkle for me, and I feel like I don't need to go back anytime soon, unless I pick up another cheap ticket. The Grand Circle centre aisle seats are still the best place to sit for this in my opinion - so much cheaper than the next seat along and a completely clear view of the whole stage!

I didn't think that Ava was up to Rachel Johns standard either. I feel that where as Rachel John made that part a stand out, when i went the other week Ava's Angelica kidn of was just 'there'.
One person i did like was Dom Hartley Harris as Washington. When i saw Hamilton shortly after opening One Last Time was my fave song and moment of the show and i was concerned that nobody could live up to his performance of it but Dom did very well indeed and it remains my fave part of the show and song from the show.
It gives me chills.

When I saw Hamilton in January I realised that I had seen Allyson Ava Brown before. She was in Bear Behaving Badly on CBBC, which I used to watch with my daughter. She played a character called Beatrice which Nev the bear nicknamed Beetroot. Every time she was on stage all I could think of was “it’s Beetroot!”

Please excuse the strange question, but when the Orchestra play off has finished and the audience are leaving does the circle of light on the stage turn red? I can't remember if I've imagined this or not and I can't find any evidence online. Many thanks in advance!

Wow, that was a mixed bag! Just on our way home from todays matinee, and I felt like I was watching two different shows at times. It’s the best I’ve seen Jamael; a real commanding presence. Dom Hartley Harris makes a tremendous Washington, soaring notes and an impish side to him that worked well. Highlights were...whenever he opened his mouth to sing. Jon Robyns still obviously loving playing KG, very good indeed. Ensemble strong as ever; the heart of the show. But the Schuyler sisters needn’t have bothered! Eliza was still ok I guess, but the new Angelica just doesn’t land for me and it really sapped the energy from some of the best moments. There were a few other moments that had lost their focus, and ‘Burn’ had a speedy 2 show day feel to it. But when it soars it’s still pretty bloody good.

I was there last night. Jamal was absolutely stunning in the role, my fourth visit. Stunning. Jason Pennycook almost steals the show, love his performance. First time seeing Jon Robyns and he is really very good, great voice. Earlier comment in this thread saying the dance moves were not as good as previous, I didn't think so. Still as strong as my previous visits. I had a great night.

I've seen the new cast twice and some things don't quite land for me. Dom has a beautiful voice, but the acting and perhaps difference in stature lacks the commanding and fatherly presence Obioma gave to the role, which I preferred. Nice to see Courtney progress to a principal role, but her Maria isn't as sultry as Christine's and Alysson is devoid of the warmth and strength Rachel John had. I know I'm nitpicking here as they were still solid performances and I thoroughly enjoyed both nights. I guess Hamilton's just lost a bit of that spark for me and I don't have that urge to return. Jon was lovely, however. Quite a different take to Mike's, but just as effective.
