Just booked my ticket for a screening on Saturday 11th Feb That's funny, it's on 19th Feb in Manc. Aren't these screenings usually on the same day nationwide? Unfortunately I seem to have deleted the original notification post that I received but if memory serves me correctly, this was an exclusive advance screening. Just found it. Newsies - The Broadway Musical 12 February Soho House Screening Room // £15 The UK premiere of Newsies is due to be shown in the cinemas on the 19th February...but there is one small hitch...that is the same day as the WhatsOnStage awards.
We know that a lot of you are attending the awards so we have scheduled a private screening for members...a week before general release, so you get to see it before everyone else!
We have a very small allocation of tickets for this private screening at Soho House Members' club, so please book to avoid disappointment. And then when I logged into book, despite the above date, there was the option for a second date and as the Saturday works better for me, that's what I chose.

Hi all, I apologise if someone's already said this but even if so it's probably worth repeating. I just booked to see this at my local cinema (cineworld). Would have cost me £27 for 2 tickets.
However, if you search for "cineworld tickets" on ebay, you can commonly pick up 2 voucher codes for about £11-12. You then go onto the cinema webside, pay a £1 booking fee, use your voucher code and book. Total cost £13 rather than £27.
Some sellers promise to send your voucher code within 5 minutes (mine took 1 minute). Some voucher codes are also good for the central London cinemas (which can be £20 or so a ticket I think?) so massive saving available. I've done similar with Odeon/Vue/Picturehouse before too.
Really looking forward to this now! Last musical I saw in the cinema was Memphis and had a great time, so fingers crossed.

Is a DVD a definite? Nothing on Amazon yet.... I don't think a DVD/Blu Ray release has yet been officially announced, but I do hope it will eventually happen - and a CD release. I'd love to have a proper recording of Crutchie's new song "Letter from the Refuge" early in act 2.

anyone found a good website listing all the screenings? Directly on their website: newsiesthemusical.com/Choose "Buy Tickets", select the correct date (should be 19th February 2017 in Europe) and enter your desired location.

So, I caught this screnning this afternoon and I'm so pleased that I did.
Firstly (and this can't be ignored) the venue. Wow! Uber posh or what? Valour lined individual sofas with an ottertman/footstools and side lamps. (Literally) one of the best screening venues I've ever been too!
Now the show itself. Simply amazing and beautifully filmed. The images are so clear you can see the twinkle in Jeremy Jordan's eyes, the scar on the right side of his chin and the weave on the fabric of his flat cap.
As I am sure you can appreciate, listening to the cast recording and reading the synopsis is one thing, but seeing it is quite another!
Seeing it, the story itself makes sense.
Here, there are fantastic close ups not only capturing the actors performance but the costumes, lighting and set designs.
And the dance sequences are dynamic, energetic and quite full on. The balletic dance training clearly comes through.
This is quite a large male dominated cast all woking their socks off.
Don't know quite exactly which theatre this was filmed in but wherever it was , it was HUGE! and full.
I remember thinking Disney just throws in money and it pays off.
I so wish this is not left somewhere in the Disney archives and is eventually released on DVD/Blu-Ray.
It so makes me want them to professionally film and release other productions.

Don't know quite exactly which theatre this was filmed in but wherever it was , it was HUGE! and full. It was the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles/Hollywood. It is indeed a huge (and beautiful) theatre - I've seen the Beauty and the Beast tour there in November 2015. So glad you enjoyed this, I'm booked for Sunday next week and can't wait to see it on the big screen, even though the German subtitles will annoy the hell out of me. I so wish this is not left somewhere in the Disney archives and is eventually released on DVD/Blu-Ray. I second this. Please release a Blu Ray and a new cast recording. Pretty please.

It must be the theatre that Disney uses in LA. When I was a tourist in LA (however many years ago) we saw The Lion King in previews

Saw it today not knowing too much about it expect looking at a few clips on YouTube and reading a bit about it. I really enjoyed it. The songs were really good and the cast great as well as the sets but the dancing was incredible!!! I had known it was good but it blew me away. It was nice and feel good Andy a niceness end to the weekend.

Have to echo the above, I really enjoyed this. I'd listened to the cast recording already and seen the clips of them performing at the award shows but that was it. It really blew me away. The dancing was incredible and I absolutely loved the staging and the design.
I feel the ship has sailed, but I'll always live in hope of a West End transfer, one day.

It's the interval at my screening in Derby and I am absolutely loving this show, such a shame it never made it to London.

I saw this earlier today and must echo everyone's comments. I was blown away by the whole show! The choreography is just so energetic and dynamic, the cast (in particular Kara and Jeremy) were first class and pure talent and the songs were brilliant. I left my local cinema with a big smile on my face. Must also say the Pantages Theatre, where it was filmed, is just stunning.
I'm holding out some hope for a DVD release. I do hope that due to previous shows being successfully filmed and screened to cinemas (Phantom, Miss Saigon etc) that it means Disney won't hesitate to release this.
(On a side note, to avoid any confusion, my username has recently been changed from Mystifyre. My profile is still all the same!)
