Last two shows on the 23rd have been cancelled. There isn’t anything online saying this, how have you found out about it?

On the website, the matinee is listed as ‘tickets not on sale’ but the evening says ‘sold out’ which implies the evening is still going ahead.

This is what the email said “ Due to positive COVID-19 cases in the cast we have unfortunately had to cancel the matinee performance of “Daddy” A Melodrama on Saturday 23 April. We are really sorry for the inconvenience this causes.” Maybe they have someone to cover for the evening and not the matinee?

It’s frustrating as I’m getting ready to leave Brighton for a day in London so it would good to know sooner rather than later.

They’ve been very helpful the times when I’ve spoken to them.

We’ve had an email to say that the Almeida are looking forward to seeing us this evening.

That felt like two or maybe even three plays rolled into one. A lot that I liked and a lot I found interesting but the tail end of the third act... that was a bit of a struggle for me I must be honest. I might not be the smartest person in the world and there are absolutely things I sometimes miss in plays (and sometimes I even realise I missed something) but being hit with the theme over and over and over and over - just too much. An edit or a rewrite would have been welcome.
Great performances, that helped in parts. A few empty seats at the start despite a house full sign and a few people left at the interval.
