A transfer isn't guaranteed by any means, just look at Fun Home. Fun Home is a great example, however surprisingly the Young Vic production wasn’t great, it was nowhere near to the New York production. Saying that I am surprised it hasn’t been done in the regional theatre since, in a better production this could be a route back to the West End. Same with Spelling Bee which was done in the same venue, that didn’t transfer too. If The Band’s Visit did transfer it would be in a very small theatre, could even be the Other Palace as they seem to be a receiving house now. However let’s just say we have 2 cracking productions coming over. Oh yeah, don't get me wrong I am beyond happy that this show is coming over, I just don't see a West End run as a given. Must disagree about Fun Home though, I really loved that production and saw it twice.

Why is the Donmar version of A Doll’s House Part 2 listed as 3 hours when every other production (including on Broadway) was 90 mins? Are they running it twice every night?

Have the Donmar done away with £10 circle seats completely now then? Cheapest seems to be £21 even on the far sides with only standing showing as £10.
Appears to be an extra circle row and stalls row on the opposite side of the auditorium now too for A Dolls House 2.

Appears to be an extra circle row on the opposite side of the auditorium now too. I was just coming to note the same thing. Row C at the sides is gone for A Doll's House Part II with a row added behind the stage and while the usual layout is in place for A Band's Visit, all priced at £21 now.
Ugh.

I was told that the loss of €10 seats was just for dolls house 2 but maybe not?

Are they doing the thing where they don't reveal all of the (cheaper) seats at the start of booking?

Not impressed by the price hike here. £15-20 price rise in 2 years clearly a rise higher than in inflation. £60 for a ticket to Donmar?!? I normally love coming here and was fine for paying £45 for Force Majeure and Mary Seacole but this is really quite offputting.

I was told that the loss of €10 seats was just for dolls house 2 but maybe not? There were £10 seats for "Silence" this morning so it must be something limited to Doll's house 2.

The critics really panned it and at the time I seem to remember it was seen as a very strange show for the Donmar (whose musicals had tended to be quite serious or at least not frivolous up to that point) but I remember having a fab time. Parade (also superlatively good) didn’t transfer. There is something about seeing musicals in such an intimate venue that I think will always beat a bigger West End house. Then again the Menier have an excellent track record of wonderful intimate musical productions making successful transfers into town so maybe I’m just talking nonsense! Either way I don’t know The Band’s Visit at all but have booked to see it and really looking forward to it.
