I hope for some weird and totally nonsensical reason they do the proper and far more superior original west end cast recording version. Every Movies a Circus makes angels vomit

I'm hoping they do the big ending to 'Too Much in Love to Care' rather than the quiet one, but I doubt that will happen either.

I hope they'll do then "when he scorned me I knew he'd have to die" bit (to melody of Surrender) in the final scene. Was cut from the actor/muso version.

I'm quite sure Siobhan can get up there, and Xavier will make sure he can....he's done everything else... in the world, ever... so I'm quite sure he wouldn't let a bit of a crescendo beat him! Surely the whole idea of it is to be BIG or they wouldn't put it on that stage with that orchestra.

I've never heard a quieted down non-crescendo ending of Too Much In Love To Care.

I've never heard a quieted down non-crescendo ending of Too Much In Love To Care. It was in the UK tour, and the Watermill production (I think)

I've seen the Watermill version in London and the Petula Clark US tour (in addition to seeing the Nunn version numerous times in three different places). Nothing IMO compares to the Nunn/RUG version.

Gawd, a lot of you a total purists to the Trevor Nunn version!!
I hope you aren't disappointed by the forthcoming interpretation.
I've seen 4 versions of Sunset now and enjoyed them all immensely on their individual merits.

Anna Woodside as Hedda Hopper and Emily Bull as Hedy Lamarr joined the cast.

From the photo posted today, Fred Johanson looks far too young to play against Glen Close - I do hope they will age him up - you can't have a Max who doesn't come across as more senior to Norma D. Doesn't work...

Is it me or are Michael's moobs running the risk of upstaging the rest of the cast?

What would you do if it was literally just Glenn in a pantsuit, with a microphone centre stage, with the cast next to her with just mic stands. Literally a concert version. No set, costume or choreography.

Well, as rehearsals for this started yesterday (Monday 22nd) almost 6 weeks before opening night I would expect a fully staged, blocked and choreographed show bar the John Napier Set. Otherwise what are they doing for 6 weeks?

I hope they don't distract from Glenn. No sudden movements or dancing please . Is it me or are Michael's moobs running the risk of upstaging the rest of the cast? Please, some of us are still trying to forget Michael's moobs, and you lot are not helping.

Otherwise what are they doing for 6 weeks? Standing around open-mouthed and applauding as Glen twirls around in full costume and make up doing that "we didn't need words we had faces" face while the bloke playing Hog Eye shines a spot on her?

Here's a video to get in the mood of what to expect from her singing:
Although this video was from her glory days. I bet it's worse now.
