I have a friend who got very close to being cast in LES MIS from the open auditioning and years ago another friend got quite far into the audition process for the WICKED tour from the open auditions. Weren’t two cast members from the recent revival of CHORUS LINE found at open auditions?
While the majority of the time they’re just for publicity they do have their benefits.

Just thought this was interesting...Caissie Levy replied to a tweet saying ‘i’ll be with frozen broadway until feb 2020’ - thought it was interesting that she’d specifically say ‘Frozen Broadway’ as opposed to just Frozen.
(Sorry don’t know how to link tweets)

She was responding to someone who mentioned the show as "FrozenBroadway", so why shouldn't she? If she hadn't then people would be saying "She said Frozen, but not which production. That must mean she's moving to a different production in November".

I don’t know, just to me the ‘Broadway’ sounds more precise than ‘Frozen’ in general!

The point I was making is that whatever happened there'd be people reading something into it. Mention a detail and people ask "Why so specific?" Don't mention a detail and people ask "Why so vague?" Stay silent and people want to know what you're trying to hide. Say something and people think you're directing attention away from something you're trying to hide.

I read somewhere they were looking for all British leads. They don’t need to stunt cast so this could be one stellar cast!!

I wonder if we'll get a LED display as part of the refurb?

I wonder if we'll get a LED display as part of the refurb? Don't know about an LED display but I shall be expecting an icy fountain (a la Copacabana) and a jumping Sven (a la carousel). No Sven - no ticket for me.

If we get an LED display can we also have a Burger King inside this wonderful iconic building...said the snobby old-fashioned stick-in-the-mud traditionalist...and proud of it!

Theatre hordings now going up I’d say that that’s not an official hoarding, but one of those temporary ones whilst the work continues beneath.

ngl I love the amount of money Disney chuck at Marketing. You watch some people will think this is the only show on the WE soon when it starts its first big hit of publicity.

Priority booking opens at the end of January, with tickets on general sale from March. It also looks like they’re slightly adapting the poster. http://instagram.com/p/B5mem7nou7v

The theatre is also getting a 'new' shorter name, once it re-opens, it will just be referred to as 'The Lane'. Oh hell no. It’s not a sodding cocktail bar.

You'd think they'd be proud of such a lovely classic name full of history, but I guess the shorter name is easier to use in social media and sounds "trendy".
The Theatre Royal Drury Lane was the second West End theatre I ever entered (after the Apollo Victoria which was then looking completely different for Starlight Express and not like a normal theatre) and I remember how awed and dumbstruck teenage me was by the beauty of a proper classic old theatre. While I now think there are prettier theatres in the West End, I still have a particular fondness for this theatre and I hope they won't mess with it too much.

It’s even worse than ‘The Other Palace’. If that’s possible. Was ‘The Other Theatre Royal’ on the cards too? It’s had it’s name since 1672 - social media be damned. I honestly think The Cats movie has finally sent his Lordship over the edge..

It's a Grade I listed building. Why the heck does it have to be trendy? I shall continue to think of it as the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, just as the Sondheim will always be the Queens to me.

Yawn. I just dont know who he thinks he is. I don't think Barks would be right for this role AT ALL. But, what the heck do I know? I was thinking more along the lines of Alice Fearn or why cant we have a BAME Elsa? I feel like Barks is a bit too mature for Elsa...
I mean has this Carl just seen that Barks isnt reprising her role in City of Angels and gone "Hey, lets start a rumour!"

The new design doesn't really do it for me, much prefer the current one they use for the Broadway and touring production.
I'm assuming they're aiming to open in time for October half term.

I really like Barks but do people think she has a big enough voice for the songs? I remember when I saw her in The Last 5 Years I was surprised that her belt was not as strong as I expected it to be. That was several years ago now so her voice may have developed more.
