There's a Cast Recording coming out. I hope it's good because Joe's version Close Every Door To Me was fantastic live. Didn't love all the changes but it will be good to hear some of it again.

Cast Recording is out now - it's the 2009 cast, with Joe. Only available in venues though!

It's also on his website but it has very expensive delivery. It's also showing on Amazon for release on the 20th of February.

Yeah I saw it last year and certainly didn't love it at all. I did love his version of Close Every Door To Me so maybe I'll be able to download just that song at some point.

I thought slavery was over? As it's a biblical show - clearly not!

The CD arrived today. Haven't been able to listen to it all. Some of the backing music sounds very cheap, but Joe sounds great. It's on iTunes too.

10 per week - Tuesday 7.30, Wed/Thu 2.30/7.30, Fri 5/8, Sat 2/5/8 Jesus, that's one hell of a schedule! Wait, how long is the show?! They only have like half an hour between shows on Saturdays?!

Annoyingly the CD has no details that I can see about who's singing (apart from Joe).

I'll have a look, thanks, but I don't think it's right that they're not listed.

I'll have a look, thanks, but I don't think it's right that they're not listed. Totally agree, I think it's really bad for a cast recording to not credit the performers and tell the listener who they are listening to. Assume in this case it's to not make it obvious that it's a re-release of an old recording. I think I have it. Narrator is Abigail Jaye and Joseph was Craig - Ryan Ryder - Chalmers.

Thanks for that, I was going to ask who the Narrator was. Can't find much info online. Don't suppose anyone knows who played the other main parts on the 2009 recording?!
Good grief. Is that his alter-ego?! Who knew.

Jacob - Henry Metcalf Pharaoh - Simon Bowman (assume not the Saigon/Les Mis one) Reuben - Trevor Jary Butler - Stephen McCarthy Baker - Harry Morrison

Amazing thank you. The most shocking thing when I googled him was that he's straight!
And yes, anyone under eighteen or at work should definitely not Google his alias!!!!

He played the young Elvis in Are You Lonesome Tonight? many moons ago at the Phoenix.

Well, it's already on tour, they've already released a recording with Joe as Joseph....would it transfer into town?

I'm guessing a West End transfer too for the 50th anniversary.
Although why this production, I haven't the foggiest.

Where would it go? I assume one of the playhouses as I doubt any of the bigger theatres will be available. Is there real demand for Joseph in the West End given it's toured since the Stone Age.

If they charge West End prices for this production there'll be riots in the streets..

There is a break in the tour in July/August but Joe is busy with his "Gloria" Tour. There are then dates up until mid-November. Its actually a pretty good show for a limited Christmas season.

NT Live relay to cinematic premises? As ALW has said he's planning to bring the show back to the West End 'later this year', it would make more sense to wait until then to do an NT Live relay to cinemas, or wait until the 50th celebration performance next year (whatever that involves) to do it.
