Why on earth isn't it full? It should be.

Why on earth isn't it full? It should be. Odd time of year I think. London is busy but lots of shows struggling to fill up (Adrian Mole was the same).

Yes, Sweat was more affordable than most (my 2nd row ticket cost £27.50) but I think the chickens may now be coming home to roost regarding West End pricing. It's just far too expensive now.

and also a lot of people have seen this now - the Donmar plus Guilgud - and it is closing in under two weeks. Doesn't necessarily look like it but there are 950 seats at the Guilgud ..

Loved this just as much as Rosmersholm today. Two very different plays but both well acted with very affecting moments. The fight scene at the end was surprisingly brutal and visceral and flawlessly executed which was great since I usually find stage fighting to feel a little anti-climactic.

I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times, in my entire life, that I've stage doored, yet I found myself lurking outside the Gielgud Theatre on a lovely sunny afternoon.
In my head I'd worked out exactly what I was going to say to Martha Plimpton, but when the time came, nerves got the better of me, and all I managed to blurt out was, "Would you mind?" Little did I know, watching Running on Empty all those years ago, that I would one day be asking one of the stars for her autograph.
