Never heard of any of these people but really excited by this casting - and the new poster looks great!

Is this one to book now or could there be discounts closer to the time? I remember seeing deals for Little Shop towards the end of the run last year. Unfortunately I can’t take advantage of the brilliant Under 18 half price tickets this year💔

Unfortunately I can’t take advantage of the brilliant Under 18 half price tickets this year💔 Their 18-25 membership costs a one-off £10 fee and lets you book Band B seats for any production (including the Barbican transfer of JCS) for £10 each, so even if you just book one ticket for one production it'll cost you £20 in total instead of £50. The only catch is you can only book for preview performances, so it's not ideal in terms of flexibility, but you get other benefits too. openairtheatre.com/breeze

Thanks so much for letting me know about this though, I’m sure it’ll be of great use to me in future years!

The front two rows are now on sale for Evita.
They were previously held back, as the theatre was unsure of the staging when tickets first went on sale back in December.

Eva Peron was South American so get somebody of that origin to play the role..... And Alexander Hamilton was caucasian. You either want diverse casting or you don't.

I’ve never been to this theatre. Does anyone know what the second tier bit is like because I’m not prepared to pay Band A prices lol

Great view but a little far away from the stage especially at the back. Reflected in the seat prices I suppose.

The sound is brilliant at the top, the view is indeed a bit far back. There are some very good cheaper seats in the front rows way off to the sides at second and third price, so you could be as far forward as K for the cash. The restricted view seats above the entrance doors, some also swear by. If you are taller and willing to chance a rail through the view, it's a fourth price seat on row O.
Thanks. I'm baulking a bit at a show I've seen so many times before, and my friend won't pay top dollar.

The artwork suggests this is a new interpretation though. I’m expecting it to be very different. I don’t think Regents Park would be doing it otherwise, given the amount of flogging BK has done of his touring version which was only in the WE quite recently.

True, and that and Jamie Lloyd makes it a must see. But they are charging West End prices for outdoor theatre....

Which I don't object to as Ive always found production values and cast sizes to be high at the Open Air

No issue with WE prices per se, the productions are generally very good, it’s just that the outdoor experience can be so varied from a warm evening and that magical moment when dusk falls and the stage lights come to the fore or being incredibly cold and damp. I find Regents Park almost always drops chilly sitting still even after the hottest day. It’s such a gamble.

Adam Pearce was great in Sunset Boulevard, but that isn't a good picture to fill the page with...

I dunno guys..Adam is talented, but this is really going against type by casting him as Magaldi. Maybe they're purposely doing this to create a rather uncomfortable dynamic between him and Eva?

I thought this too! Surely he is more of a Perón than a Magaldi? In fact, didn't he cover Perón for Philip Quast in the Michael Grandage revival?

I’ll be at the final preview, also with very high expectations from both OAT and Jamie Lloyd!

I remember reading in ALWs book that the actress who plays Evita only does 6/8 shows a week. Do we know which performance She Sammantha Pauly won’t be performing sort from the two anomalies listed on the website? Thanks

I’ll be at the final preview, also with very high expectations from both OAT and Jamie Lloyd! What ARE people’s expectations of this? I suppose I’m expecting it not to be set in the period judging by the artwork but not having seen anything directed by him before what is Jamie Lloyd’s ‘shtick’? Are we going to be shocked? Outraged? (Doctor Faustus caused some concerns at the time I recall).... what does everyone think?
