I remember reading on Broadway World a while ago that after they transferred to the Victoria Palace, they'd wait 5 or 6 years before touring the UK and Europe. Places like Manx, Cardiff and Edin are definitely shoo-ins for Hamilton. I don't think they'd do as many venues close together as Wicked (e.g. Liverpool, Manchester AND Birmingham) because they might not want to transport the revolves between too many different venues in case of damage (would they even use revolves for the tour? I'm just rambling.) I'd be shocked if they didn't take Hamilton to Birmingham. It's not very close to Manchester or Liverpool. Oh yes, I’d definitely say the Birmingham Hippodrome for its big summer musical. I don’t think it would do Liverpool as well as those two though because Manchester would “cover” the North West for their big sitdowns.

This is just hear say, but I’m hearing about plans for future Mamma Mia and Joseph tours reaching the Birmingham Hippodrome, as well as discussions of another Hairspray tour in a few years

I was always surprised mamma Mia chose to downsize in terms of venues instead of going back round to the large venue again

oh yeah I agree but it doesn't seem like a show that would need to get.if you can sell out 2000plus seat venues it suggests theres money to be made

I couldn’t say! I heard that it’s being announced in one of the Hippodromes next brochures but that’s all I know I’m afraid

Didn't ALW say he wanted to do a new London Jospeh production for the show's 50th (i.e. now!) which would mean the tour would stop.
Wish he would.
I know it's dated now, but when the 1991 Jason Donovan/Linzi Hateley version launched at The Palladium it was EPIC. And a wonderful reminder of just how good this show is when done well. With fabulous sets and lighting, a full band in the pit and a female ensemble matching the male in size it was SO good.
This show needs reimagining again for 2018.
The BKP tour is just so cheap is a real shame (that said, was the first ever musical I saw when I was 9 and is probably responsible for getting me in to musical theatre - so I do have something to thank it for I guess!)
The Elton John Joseph film has also been about to me made for my entire adult life lol.....

The BKL production of Joseph could do with a lick of paint, on both the cardboard sets, and the whole blocking and everything in the show. I saw it last Christmas at the Newcastle arena and it was a disaster.
It’s weird that BKL productions can range from moderately decent to good (e.g. Heathers and Sound of Music) to truly awful (Ghost and Joseph)

Any idea who the producers of the new Priscilla tour is? The artwork is different to the last couple of tours so I would say someone different has it this time?

Someone posted on Instagram about the Mary poppins going into the Adelphi RUMOR this morning from March with zizi reprising her role I can see this touring again after it’s west end revival. And the Book of Mormon tour is starting from May. 2019. And Charlie and the chocolate factory tour is still on there just waiting to confirm it. Btw if someone knows what the WMC in Cardiff’s big xmas show is please tell me it’s Dreamgirls and not Charlie as I wasn’t a massive lover of it in London I’d much rather Dreamgirls kick of its tour in Cardiff for a Christmas run thanks guys x

Oh, is Oliver touring soon? It's coming up to 10 years since the Drury Lane revival (gosh, saying that makes me feel OLD!), which was 14 years after the Palladium version. So I'd imagine it would be another 5 years or so.

I think Cameron Mackintosh should put the 1994 production of Oliver! to pasture and let a new creative team take on the show.

I would love to see Spring Awakening do a tour. It's been a favourite of mine since seeing a bootleg of the OBC and the US Tour cast with the incredible Christy Altomare!
As for other tours, I would love to see Book of Mormon also! It's a show I've been dying to see but I can't quite get to London anytime soon!

I wonder if Disney would consider a UK tour of Freaky Friday?

No plans to tour, though wouldn't be surprised if Cameron sends it out after Les Mis/Phantom/Oliver. Charlie tour not happening for the foreseeable, they'll want to gauge success on the US tour first. Christmas 2019 won't be Dreamgirls as it isn't starting until 2020. I wonder what we are getting will it be a new tour or something that’s already on the road time will tell

I’m afraid not. Edinburgh has been advertised as the only Scottish date.

We Will Rock You is still on as Theatre Royal Newcastle still has it listed on their website, unless it’s a (very expensive) amateur production.

There was a season launch at Curve tonight and i think they mentioned an announcement of a big show coming in next year in a few weeks. Usually if they get big shows in it's to open them so any thoughts on what that could be? Any word on the Dreamgirls tour? Is 42nd Street touring? Unless it is just an existing tour they have managed to get in. Maybe Mormon seeing as they seem to only be wanting to announce one venue at a time.

Mamma Mia is headed on a 20th anniversary tour. Hits the Birmingham Hippodrome in Spring 2020 according to the new season brochure.

But there are apparently international productions planned ala Australia and Europe first. Dreamgirls is booked in, but not until a Summer 2020 start.
