Could have for all I know, it's still my opinion though and I am not going to change it because of "could haves" she's proven on more than one occasion she is inconsistent and when on she doesn't exactly give such stellar performances to make up for the absence, irregardless, I am very much looking forward to cast change. Wicked needs fresh blood Erm... Isn't Emma on holiday? Scheduled time off, it's part of their contract you know.. They are obliged to up to 5 weeks holiday per year.

She is supposed to be on now after last week taking holiday!

So Emma must of done more shows offstage than she has onstage this year... I really do get the feeling we will have a re-cast of Elphaba before her contract ends.

Really looking forward to seeing her again in April. It'll be more than a half year of not having seen the show in London. I really do get the feeling we will have a re-cast of Elphaba before her contract ends. Frankly, I don't think so.

Forgive me for being so boring, here's some facts So far in 2016 (up to today) there has been 43 shows.
Emma Hatton: 24 Natalie Andreou: 18.5 Natalie McQueen: 0.5
So while it is that Emma has missed a LOT, she was scheduled to miss 8 shows on holiday. So currently in 2016 she has missed 11 shows unscheduled this year. Last year she was MUCH better with attendance, so I guess it's just winter colds and stuff!

It's like a revolving broom this week!
Laura Emmitt posted on Twitter that she's on holiday so technically Natalie McQueen is the only Elphie in the building?!

I still stand by Laura being the permanent Elphaba. She is, in my opinion, from what I have heard, the strongest performer vocally out of the four current. I get that she is rarely on and she may change if she done it regularly, but damn she is so, so good vocally!

Still 7 months till cast change, sigh . What makes you think there'll be a cast change? I'm not that confident and expect the worst in form of an announcement that Emma and Savannah will continue in their respective roles and lead the cast to the show's tenth anniversary.

Best case is cast change as planned early September so new leads for the 10th.
Likely case is EH/SS extend a month to do the 10th then cast change is October.
Worst case is no cast change and they just extend for another year!

They won't extend for another year - they just can't lol

They won't extend for another year - they just can't lol I made the same mistake last year and booked tickets for cast-not-change well before they announced no-one was actually leaving. Won't be making that mistake a second time and wait for a proper announcement. Bul I think it's more likely that I'll be giving this year's cast change a complete miss and rather try seeing the new cast's first show.

Nat A has been more consistent, something tells me she unwell again She sounded hoarse at yesterday's matinee. She wasn't very strong vocally either.

Well done to Natalie for trying .. Elphaba is a massive sing and everyone is ill at the moment. Sometimes a singer doesn't know at 11am if she's able to do a show or not so to come in and try says a lot. Emma too... It's a tough role! And of course Laura was a breath of fresh air, she's had rest time vocally!

I have a question guys. For those of you who saw Hayley Gallivan when she was s/b in London what did you think of her in terms of vocals and acting?

Post by Deleted on Feb 7, 2016 17:18:35 GMT
I saw Hayley once, and by chance it was also her final performance as Elphaba and she really went all out. She was riffing and really going for the belts in the songs and has gone up as one of my top three Elphabas!

Hayley was my first Elphaba and I loved her. Admittedly she definitely didn't have the strongest vocals (at least not at the performance I saw) but I absolutely loved her. Especially her Wizard And I! Don't remember much about her acting but thought she was fine I guess, as I don't remember thinking anything negative.

I've seen Hayley four times (I think) and really enjoyed her portrayal. It's 2.5 years ago, so I don't remember any details, but she's definitely in the top half of my fave Elphie list.

A casting call has gone out for all roles so hopefully there will be new leads this year. Wicked does need some fresh blood in the cast so I am hopefully there is a big cast change this year. Who would everyone like to see take the roles of Elphaba and Glinda? And I'm meaning actresses who haven't played them before, since I know a lot of us have firm favourites who we wish would return.
