Am also seeing Qdos doing a fair few Beauty and the Beasts, Sleeping Beautys and Robin Hoods if those are possible productions for the future...

Is there a fairy godmother type role in Snow White? Can see the lovely Jane McDonald as a possible target, especially after Elaine did so well in her pants debut. Would hope for an A-team panto with Paul O'Grady and Bradley Walsh involved - give Julian a year off and have him back for Jack & the Beanstalk in 2019/20. PLEASE DON'T GET MY HOPES UP

Time for burlybear to audition for a part? Well, he does spend quite a bit of his life seeing three bears in the mirror, I'm told... Lucky mr Burly

PLEASE DON'T GET MY HOPES UP I saw Jane in Birmingham's Jack and the Beanstalk and she was utterly fabulous and brought the house down with her renditions of This Is The Moment and Ain't No Beanstalk High Enough.

Mel B or Alesha Dixon as Wicked Queen? Bradley Walsh as Muddles? Ella Eyre would be a great Snow White. I wonder if Julian, Nigel, Paul would be back. Surely they can’t get Paul again but wouldn’t surprise me if Julian or Nigel did. Julian could be the man in the mirror character. David Williams would make a great Dame

The announcement is due to be made within the next two weeks.
We would presume this will also come with initial casting also... it has been said at least three of last years cast are set to return.
I really would love for Gary Wilmot to return.

If Julian and Paul return, as much as they are talented, it just will be their same routines in different costumes. I presume the 3rd party with be Nigel. It will get wonderful review for newbies but if you have seen them before you have seen it.

Gary Wilmot had a huge success with the Dame last year - it wouldn't surprise me if he returns.

(and I hope they keep the Underground song in) the Underground song was fantastic, and probably my favourite number in the show...but I'm not sure how relevant it would be to a Southampton (or anywhere else) audience?

The show is set In London! We are cultured enough around here to be aware of those magic trains that live in the sewers up in the big smoke!

Well as much as I really enjoyed last years panto the casting here seems to be a total repeat with the switch of Dawn French instead of Elaine Paige. Lets hope Paul Zerdin for example comes up with a fresh act. Seems a bit like Groundhog Day.
I suppose it is very much a case of "if it aint broke don't fix it"!

So for those who don't do twitter type:
Evil Queen: Dawn French Man in the Mirror: Julian Clary Muddles: Paul Zerdin The Understudy: Nigel Havers Mrs Crumble: Gary Wilmot The King and Queen: Vincent and Flavia
So expect Snow White and the Prince to be musical theatre names.

Yeah I would say its safe to assume Snow White and The Prince will be musical theatre performers like last year. Not a bad cast but I am not crazy on Paul Zerdin

Well if we look at Natasha and Charlie, they were the two kinda breakouts of their respective years in the West End. If we follow that logic, whoever plays Snow White will be the breakout star of this past/coming year. So for example, if Clare Halse hadn't extended in 42nd Street I could see her in that role.
This may sound random, but based on this logic and her look, how about Leanne Cope, who was the lead in An American in Paris?

I wonder if they be any complaints if Children or adults on their knees are the dwarfs rather than actual Dwafs Bit diaspointed Paul Zerdin is back his act was very repetitive last year and it needs to change.

As long as he gets new material (he could get away with doing it for two years, not three), he shouldn’t be too bad! If there are plenty of jokes along the lines of ‘didn’t this happen last year...’ I’m sure he can’t be let off the hook! The jokes for ‘Nigel as the Understudy’ surely must have written themselves by now. As I said before I would have liked Bradley Walsh as Muddles but I am more than happy that they spent the $$$ on Dawn... what a booking! I’m sure she will be outrageously OTT and really get stuck in with a fabulous repartee with Julian - can’t wait
