Those questioning the "need" of this Hamlet are forgetting the only read "need" has come from Tom himself and his "need" to play Hamlet. I doubt he has any concerns that there have been others recently; rather the time scale that he has to play the Dane legitimately is fast ebbing.
There is very little need for this production.
It sort of defines vanity project.
But then it's The Hiddles.

Is it true Mr Hiddleston is going to sing his unaccompanied version of Man In The Mirror in place of To Be Or Not To Be...?

You mean Andrew Scott, though actually I'd be MUCH more interested in Adam Scott's Hamlet than Branagh directing another snoozefest. Hamlet starts playing Cones of Elsinore, gets distracted, loses interest in vengeance. Wacky hijinks ensue.

Oh poop. Found this near the bottom of the FAQs section. Anyone not registered yet (as if!) take note. It really wasn't clear and there are definitely 2 of us on this board who haven't done this. That'll teach me to read all the questions first won't it? What if I am over 25 but would like to buy tickets for someone under that age?You will need to register in the ballot using your name, but you will need to tick the Under 25s option and give the date of birth of the young person you are booking for. At the booking stage, you will be able to give the name of the person collecting the ticket on the day; that person will need to bring photo ID with their date of birth.

That sounds like if you're buying as a gift and not planning to attend yourself though. What if you want one ticket for your over-25 self who will be collecting the tickets and one for your under-25 companion? This could still be clearer.

This could still be clearer. Couldn't it just! But as I understand it, I should have ticked the under 25 box and given my name but the younger person's date of birth - which I actually did think of doing but decided it was too weird to be ok. Not long now though.

I've re-read it thrice and now it sounds to me that whether you have a chance to book tickets you THEN be able to specify the person you're buying for (name of the person collecting the tickets on the day), somewhere within booking process. At least it might be an option.

Look chaps, I do hope we all get tix but I'm betting whether we do or not, the audience will have its full quota of celebs and wannabees, press and media folk as usual. And tix will change hand for silly prices. Call me cynical, but there you are. I am prepared to be proved wrong and would love to be so.

I'm kind of assuming that RADA will tweet when the emails have been sent out, telling people to check their inboxes.

Hmm, or the e-mails might be sent over a lengthy period. And there may not be an email of Doom, so that the suspense and eventual disappointment will be greater as shrieks of success echo the land all around the Dejected Ones.

RADA tweeted the other day that : Hello, all successful ballot entrants will hear at the same time and will receive an email before booking opens on 9 August

I am starting to wonder if 'before booking opens on 9 August' will mean tomorrow morning after all. You'd think they'd give people more notice than that, though!

I agree kathryn. We all need notice to be at our laptops for 10.AM after all. I'm holding out hope for today. Every time someone bumps this thread I hate them just a tiny bit........

I like how everyone was studiously - superstitiously? - avoiding this thread until one tiny tap caused it to spring back to life.

Here, the sky has suddenly darkened and rain is sheeting down. No thunderclaps or ligtning bolts, but I sense the imminent arrival of an E-mail of Doo-oom.

I reckon they'll time the emails to go out after their office has shut to avoid the inevitable phone calls.

They're either going to come at a weird time during the night, or horribly close to whatever time the tickets are going on sale.

They're either going to come at a weird time during the night, or horribly close to whatever time the tickets are going on sale. I suspect that it will be tomorrow morning. Possibly to stop people flogging their winning ballot - you can gift tickets by nominating the person who is going to collect them, so ballot winners could potentially take money to do so. Edit: OR, maybe they've all actually been sent out, and absolutely no-one any of us know has got one?!
