Oh good. At least I won't have to go to one of the touring venues. (Don't get me wrong, all the touring venues I've been to are lovely, but Central London is easier for me to get to.)

I'm surprised Bill Kenwright didn't manage to squeeze in another free advert on prime time Radio 2, directly after his John Partridge anecdote.

If they can trim down that awkward 20 minute ad-lib John does in Act I during the title number its pretty solid!

La Cage not happening now. nor is it any shows on the list that's going into the Phoenix.... I get that people don't want to reveal sources, but for those of us not lucky enough to be in the know posts like that are intensely frustrating - clearly you know what is going into the Phoenix but are refusing to say and choosing to tease instead, which I have to admit I personally find a bit unnecessary.

Id add to that, particularly from posters who post infrequently. Id rather not have these little snippets, I didnt even know there was a list of possibilities until I read that particular post. Is it a list that is publicly available or just from suggestions made on here.

Personally I think it really surprising that it is taking so long for either theatre to make an announcement , puzzling.

...Is it a list that is publicly available or just from suggestions made on here. Well it's the first post on this thread, so I'm suprised you missed it. Yes I'm an infrequent poster, but I only post when I know things are correct, not frequent posters who post rubbish rumours. My post was merely saying it's not one of the list of shows that have been mentioned in this thread. Incidentally the show will be open by the end of July. Didn't realise that was so bad. I won't post again.

Oh that list. The one with about 6 or 7 shows on it. I thought it was something debated in greater detail you were referring to. End of July sounds good though. I think the point being made is that some are suspicious or doubtful of people coming on with the I know something you dont attitude and not engaging or filling in gaps, thats the way with internet message boards on any topic. Apologies for any offence caused

Personally I think it really surprising that it is taking so long for either theatre to make an announcement , puzzling. The fact that no announcement has been made yet suggests to me that, for whatever reason, they're not ready to make the announcement. Which could be due to the fact that shows may not be confirmed to the extent of contracts being signed, or theatres could be doing maintenance and having a dark period before opening with the new show, so don't want to announce yet. Either way, I'm sure we'll hear soon!

What do I know, but if you're a producer, wouldn't you hope to open with a good advance? Opening anything as soon as the end of July doesn't leave much time to build up a good head of steam.

If you know what show it is, then say so - you'll either be proved right or wrong in due course, that doesn't matter. You "know things are correct" yet haven't bothered to actually disclose what you clearly know. If you don't want to say, then maybe it's better to say nothing at all because the sense of superiority that's coming from the teasing of information in your posts is likely to rub people who aren't fortunate to be privy to such information up the wrong way. Sorry if that seems harsh, but think how you would feel if you knew nothing and other people were pointedly hinting they do know without actually giving any information away.

What's the link for? Surely not Evita for the WE again? We've not long lost it from the Dominion... it's not a great show either. It needs retiring for a couple of years at least before bringing it back.

It needs retiring for a couple of years at least before bringing it back. It CAN be a great show imo. But a lot depends on the direction. I saw the Madalena Alberto/Marti Pellow tour (although he wasn't on thank God), and it was okay but kind of meh. And then I saw a completely new production in Belgium a while ago and it was very refreshing and grittier.

Then again, a filler is better than an empty theatre!

However it's always very much appreciated if the people posting these can give a bit of info to back up their post, without giving themselves or their sources away if that would cause difficulties of course.

Strictly Ballroom is not transferring to the Phoenix or anywhere else, so I have heard. The show closes in Toronto next week.

This production of Evita is no where near West End worthy unless it was just a filler. Although it would make sense I suppose to have it as a filler until December when it goes to Dubai or whatever they are doing with it?
All those poor Emma Hatton fans, its gonna be like Sophie's (Evans) choice deciding whether to datseat for Evita or Wicked if it did happen!
