I do hope it is filled. I would hate to see a dark theatre there. Mary Poppins would be a super idea as would 9 to 5, Carrie, Titanic, Ragtime, Aida, Xanadu, Flowers for Mrs Harris, Newsies - but I can only dream.... Oooh Titanic would be fantastic. I never got the chance to see it at the Charing Cross. I like the idea of Newsies as well. I thought it was supposed to be coming to London a few years ago but it never did.

Baz has said on his twitter feed not to expect Finding Neverland anytime soon Oh man, I've been looking forward to this for quite a long time. Maybe Gary's planning to cast it through a TV show.

Do you think there is genuinely 'nothing' or that they've just not announced it yet ?? The rumours would maybe point to Finding Neverland but as we all know, rumours are rumours. But then it wouldn't close for no reason. There's multiple shows looking at the Picc, but nothing is booked/confirmed yet. Massive shame about Neverland though, been looking forward to it for ages!

Me too but I did think that Gary Barlow would need and want to a big part of the promotion and wasn't sure how this would work with ''The Girls' and 'Let it Shine'.
I do hope it makes it over, 2018!
Shame we don't know if a show is confirmed to go into Piccadilly- I too hope it's dosent go dark for a period.

Another TV casting show could help. And actually I hope that's what they'll be doing because it would mean we'll finally get a real THEATRE casting show instead of the boyband-focussed Let It Shine.

They'd have to do a lot of promotion for Titanic. Make sure people don't think it's the Celine Dion song sung 20 times. It's a show that deserves to do really well.

a smaller titanic tour stopping at say Liverpool, Belfast and Southampton could possibly work.
and I'm not sure casting via tv for Neverland would work. the tv shows need to be for high profile roles and shows that the general public know well and can engage with

The website still says it's coming to London this year. I hope it does. I still find it strange that it's taking so long. Sure, it wasn't a huge hit on Broadway, but it did okay. I think it could at the very least have a very decent run in London.

Harvey Weinstein's mother died and he has said he lacks the focus to mount the show in London while he is dealing with his grief, so it's been delayed by around six months.

I agree. It's nobody's business but his how long he takes off for grief. Some people do really well diving back into work, others don't. And it's not like it's a low stress undertaking.
And anyway, be kind. A response to someone losing their Mother is usually 'That's sad' not 'get back to work'

Also, he probably isn't taking six months off. It's not like Finding Neverland is his only project. It's probably the only one that was rescheduled and everything else between that and the new timeframe for it stayed in place.

I didn't mean it like that. I just think 6 months is an awfully long time to postpone a transfer that seemed to be a done deal a year ago. I'm obviously not saying that he shouldn't take the time to grieve.

Maybe it's also just being an unholy nightmare to transfer for reasons we don't know about? one of those mysteries.

Didn't it get bad reviews in Leicester and then so/so reviews on broadway? seems a waste of money bringing it back over here....

Didn't it get bad reviews in Leicester and then so/so reviews on broadway? seems a waste of money bringing it back over here.... I think it did fairly well on Broadway. It wasn't a huge hit, but in the first months I regularly checked the weekly grosses and they always seemed to be making at least $1 million every week. Weinstein has said they'd definitely recoup their investment on the road and make more money in London. And not to mention, it will most likely do a lot better in the West End than it did on Broadway.

It's okay. I realized the wording of that comment did seem quite harsh.

He's Jewish, and in his religion, the ritual mourning goes on for a year. During that time, one of the "articles of faith" is to "refrain from frivolity." That basically means no music, dancing, theatregoing etc. As it is his work, he would receive dispensation to do what he has to do, to keep his job; BUT his cultural beliefs have made him decide to act in that manner. I deeply admire his stance, and wish him "long life" as is the custom. Excellent point- I hadn't put two and two together first thing this morning- but yes, in following his faith indeed this would have impact. I too admire him for that.

6 months is a long time (youd be lucky to get 6 days in many jobs) but he is in a position he can take as long as he likes. Although I'd be surprised if he is taking that time off from.not working at all.
As for Finding Neverland making money, it's all down to Harvey's creative finances. If you include workshops, Leicester, Boston then Broadway then I doubt it will. But I suspect Harvey will pretend Leicester didn't happen

Harvey Weinstein and Barlow are really desperate to bring it to the West End, wonder at what point do they give up!?

Loved the show on Broadway. Theatre was full and it really worked. There have been big changes to the beginning of the US tour so I have been told by friends who have seen it. I feel it could do well in the West End as a family show and at least you would coming out humming some of the tunes, which is more than you can say for some shows now.

Because we haven't heard that for the last two years.... In some ways I want to see it because it does look like fun, and I imagine it would sell better than The Girls, but it will just be an ego boost before "The Band" comes to the West End. I can just imagine the poster for "The Band" - "Following West End hits "The Girls" and "Finding Neverland" Gary Barlow takes the West End by storm with his latest musical"

I more see this as wanting one of my favourite films on stage in London and take Gary out of my mind when it comes to this musical. However, 2018 will be perfect timing for Louise Dearman to come back into a show after having her baby...
