Digital Spy are saying: As it stands, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel's Ol Parker has been hired to direct a musical that world serve as both a sequel and a prequel to the Golden Globe-nominated original. The scenes set in the past would feature new actors playing Donna (Streep) and her three suitors singing ABBA classics that were left out of Mamma Mia's soundtrack.
Maybe the moderators can change the thread title to Mamma Mia - Here We Go Again??

I bet they get one of Meryl's daughters to play her younger self (depending on how far back they go).

I don't think it will be about who's Sophie father actually is that would ruin the ending of 'Mamma Mia!' But a good story for this could be is that Sophie is now pregnant & everyone is coming to the island to celebrate- Donna starts reflecting on her younger years with the band & getting pregnant (falling out with her mother)

I've heard the story is thus - The daughter kills herself (after realising she sucks) and they all arrieve for her funeral. It's pretty depressing but the gay one spikes everyone's holly water with lsd and poopers and plays ABBA really loud to freak the sh*t out of everyone/he has really poor mental health. They all have sex and SHE GETS PREGNANT AGAIN (this opens the door to a threeeeeequel). Someone posts on Facebook that she may have had sex with the corpse of her sucky kid (this is TOTALLY unfounded) and this screws her up so she moves to India and has her kid there coz she/me had heard they don't do Facebook there. The last song is Goodbye by the spice girls

Dear Meryl, I hear you're making Mamma Mia 2. After that, please reprise the role of Miranda Priestly. That's all. Now THIS is something I can get behind. SaveSave

Am I the only one that strongly dislikes Mamma Mia? No you're not! Stupid stupid storyline I think. Jukebox musicals aren't really my thing in general though

Im the opposite, i infinitely prefer the stage version over the movie. It has so much infectious energy on stagrle and every time i see it i knoe ill leave with a smile on my face. For me its one of the best jukebox musicals and i dont think the story is any worse than the majority of musical comedies

Poor decision to film in Croatia rather than Greece. Perhaps, but if it was your money I'm quite sure you'd cope with it.

Apart from the fact that there is barely enough room on the tiny island they are filming on for the crew and that is before they even start filming, when you see it on screen you wouldnt know it wasnt Greece.
What difference does it make?

Liverpool is often used instead of London, Berlin or New York. It's showbusiness! Good on Croatia!

I wonder what other classic album tracks we'll be treated to in this film. Voulez Vous has some corkers on it, and things like 'I Let The Music Speak' and 'The Visitors' are quite cinematic in the first place. Musically this has a chance at being so much more interesting than the first film.

7 films over the last 13 years, the last being 2011. Not exactly Hollywood.

7 films over the last 13 years, the last being 2011. Not exactly Hollywood. It is becoming a lot more common though, as mentioned above. That article is 2 years old. I'm sure you can be a rather thrifty bear when required too. Non-brand porridge oats when times are tough?
