Btw, on the 'limited to 2 tickets' thing, is that for the whole run?

And Rev, Hot Fuzz, Broadchurch, Flowers, Fleabag, The Night Manager (I didn't like it, but watched it for her and Tom Hollander), Green Wing etc etc; Peter Pan, The 6th Sense etc... Chimerica, The Children etc... Double hmm- an awful lot of made for tv stuff there. Not exactly Judi and Maggie are they? That's true. It's a shame her resume doesn't have more of the likes of Downton Abbey, All The King's Men, Capturing Mary, David Copperfield, Talking Heads, A Fine Romance, As Time Goes By and Cranford on it . .

an awful lot of made for tv stuff there With cinema now dominated by Marvel and DC cgi-heavy comic book franchise movies, I think the consensus is that TV (especially the non-advert, Netflix type on your big HD TV screen) is where it's now at - it gives writers and actors more time to develop characters and so forth.

Btw, on the 'limited to 2 tickets' thing, is that for the whole run? *EDIT* Scrap that, completely wrong. Yes it is, got this error message: Tickets are limited to 2 per customer for this production. You will not be able to check out until you remove these tickets from your basket.

Tickets are limited to 2 per customer Thanks - I already have a ticket for the Saturday but was thinking of getting some for friends, but I think I'll be selfish because I may want to see it again myself later in the run and it probably isn't their sort of thing (the long rehearsal period suggests a long play, too).

Damn, completely missed this chance and I've been checking the website multiple times daily for weeks. Once again showing sold out for the entire run - and no, it wasn't OC which made me want to book.

Yes, that's exactly what I tried, peggs - first with Chrome, then Edge A friend's just managed after several failed attempts - he was using an ipad with no luck, so switched to a PC. I got through on a Mac desktop.

I don't think the game is worth the candle, thank you, peggs. It's very frustrating, but both my laptop and netbook run Windows 10 so if neither Chrome nor Edge worked on the former, I doubt switching to the latter will make any difference; my mobile also uses Chrome as does my now very-rarely used tablet. Think I'll have to await returns or Friday Rush. Plus we don't know yet whether Mosquitoes is worth seeing...!

Plus we don't know yet whether Mosquitoes is worth seeing...! Given some of the flack Rufus Norris has had recently over Salome and Common (though Twitter on the latter is kinder than the critics) I think he'll make damn sure it is!

No, my issue is that whenever and however I try, I only ever get "Sold out" for the whole run, so I can't even try to book. Refreshing makes no difference either - grr!

Another thing to try is to access Incognito Mode in Chrome (click on the three dots on the right hand side, and select "New incognito window". This way you'll make sure that nothing is cached in your browser's memory.

Try ringing the box office? I did when I was having trouble getting through the online checkout a few weeks ago - they were very helpful.

Yes, when you visit the page it says they're all sold out, so you then enter the code on the left, BEFORE you've clicked through to any specific dates...

For anyone that is frequently checking for returned tickets like I was, I'll share how I just managed to snap one up incase it helps anyone else! I saw someone mention a Firefox addon a few pages ago, but I don't use firefox so used this method. I used the website Changemon which will automatically check a webpage for you in regular intervals to see if anything changes - so you can ask it to check the NT website to see when the button to book tickets gets activated next to any dates. On the Changemon website, when setting up a trigger put www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/mosquitoes-whats-on-listing in the URL box, then the next box select 'when a word or phrase is added' and type 'Book Now' in the box. Then tell it to check every hour and put your email address in - this means it checks every hour to see if the 'Book Now' button is activated on the page and tickets are able to be booked 😀 I just received an email notification saying the page had been updated and picked up a ticket for late August. A couple of times I got notified by email and the ticket had already gone by the time I got to the page - if this happens you need to make sure you reactivate the trigger as it switches itself off every time it sends a notification - I only had to wait a few days before I got a ticket. Good luck! (I don't have any affiliation with the changemon website)

Thank you for explaining, wiggymess - and for the code itself. I wish I had known sooner how to make it work but I had no idea that entering the code first would reveal tickets for an apparently sold-out show. To think of all that time I wasted and all the stress it caused me! Luckily for me there still were some tix and I thought it worth paying the extra £10 to be sure of a decent seat and avoid the Friday Rush lottery, which I'm not usually free even to enter. The info re the Changemon website is also really interesting, jamb0r, though I'm not sure how easy I'd find it in practice as I'm not very technical. And yes, thank you, @baemax, I tried clearing my cookies and everything else a fairly inexpert IT user could think of but of course the answer lay elsewhere.

Sorry Showgirl, I spent a while staring at the webpage wondering where to put the code so should have tumbled to the fact that you could have been thrown by that too, glad you got one in the end, I too figured it might be safer than risking the rush.

These things can be stressful sometimes! Glad u got there in the end. Received the code on email because I hadn't booked for the nt in a while. Interesting ...

Received the code on email because I hadn't booked for the nt in a while. Thanks for putting it up! I had a single ticket already but some friends who also missed out in May managed to book on the same night as me with it (and more cheaply, darn!). Would these otherwise be the tickets held back for 'Friday Rush' maybe? Odd that they don't make them available earlier if there are so many - the Friday Rush and day seat thing is great if you live within cheap travelling distance of central London but absolutely useless if you don't - and this is the 'National' theatre so as a policy it does in effect discriminate against those outside London. It would cost me around £150 on the train if I managed to bag a Friday Rush ticket, whereas it's around £33 return if I book weeks in advance (or £6 long advance on the National Express overnight bus, which is an 'interesting' experience but only 10 mins walk from the Royal Court).

I assumed maybe the front row would be Friday rush since there now seems to be an extra row. So that's where the code came from wiggymess, interesting.

I've just looked on the website and have seen they have updated the production photo in exactly the same style as the other except Olivia Williams and Olivia Coleman are on the cover. Just thought that was interesting and can't wait to see the play in a few weeks!!
