Does anyone know what the disruption was during David Bedella's song/announcement in he second half. Quite a lot of loud talking and shushing from the middle of Platform 2. Yes, another stupid fangirl related problem. A man was asking them to stop screaming as his wife had some kind of hearing issue and it was causing her pain. Then the guy next the the fangirls got involved and it was all "don't get in my face" and getting quite heated.

Oh dear. I saw David Bedella look in that direction a couple of times. I wonder if it distracted him.

I'm kind of glad I wasn't able to go now. I've got nothing against enthusiasm and especially at cast change it can add a lot to the atmosphere. But enduring hysterical fangirls is not my idea of a good night at the theatre.

Regarding the recent discussion about some characters being written not well enough/personal ability to connect with them. Lin's quote: "Just so you guys know, I am not Usnavi in this story – I am Nina” (Nina is my fave and most important character from the beginning

But enduring hysterical fangirls is not my idea of a good night at the theatre. Indeed. The joy of theatre is how immediate and raw our reactions can be, but there comes a point when the reactions stop being authentic and start being performative. No one is going to be impressed by how distractingly tearful someone is or that they know the words to a musical that's been around for about a decade now, so how about the "superfans" stop pretending there's some kind of superfan competition and just watch the musical they love so much instead?

@baemax is the second person in this thread mentioning "excessive tears". So I started wondering. Do you all here seriously think that people cry on purpose in the theatres so that the actors would notice? I am not speaking about that particular girl sitting near LMM yesterday, I just don't like the idea that someone crying harder than you find it "appropriate" definitely does that on purpose. I think this is that kind of emotion that is even harder to control than laughter. Maybe some of us are different?(c) Maybe some of just cry not trying to impress you or the actor or anyone else?

I cry all the goddamned time in the theatre, but to my knowledge I have never made the entire row of seats shake with my heaving sobs, conspicuously blown my nose or showily wiped away tears, made audible sobbing noises in the quietest of scenes, loudly talked about how much I cried on the way out of the theatre, or stood in the middle of the foyer to be consoled by my friends while everyone else is just trying to leave. I'm sure we do all cry in different ways and for different reasons, and I know a lot of the time it's thoroughly authentic, but there are those whose sheer ostentation with their emotions really do make me wonder how much of it is truth and how much of it is showing off.

Frankly said, I do think some fans need a bit of a reality check. Yes, seeing your favourite performers leave a show is sad. I am totally ok with people crying over that. But there is crying and CRYING. There is no need to wheep and sob loudly like there's no tomorrow - that is a) disturbing for those around you and b) attention seeking (a lot of the times you will see those exact fans ask the performers afterwards "Did you see me crying? I couldn't stop!").

Well, I know that some people MAY seek attention by crying loudly. Or may not. And if some other things are more distinct I wouldn't be so sure with this one knowing how strong something can resonate within you and how emotional you can get.

And a lot of the times the fact that those fans will bascially brag afterwards with how much they've CRIED will reveal the attention seekers.

Oh yeah, there's definitely a difference. I cry all the time, but there is a very noticeable difference between crying and CRYING, laughing and LAUGHING, wooping (if you're inclined to it) and WOOPING! And even if the crying is involuntary, you can choose whether or whether not to loudly sob, blow your nose etc. It's just polite and considerate to stay as quiet as possible!

Honestly it annoys me if someone around me is whispering or keeps moving let alone crying or shouting. It's why i generally avoid any opening nights/cast changes/final nights as it would just ruin the experience of watching the show for me.

I can't find any. All the cast who've left have been removed from the website, but no news on Daniela.

Here is a video from her YouTube channel, she has tonnes of them on there! She has an amazing voice! Very young voice though, seemingly is around Philippa's age than Victoria's? Her Daniela may be a younger incarnation.

About bleedin' time!! Will catch this cast at some point, but I have to say I am quite trepidatious after the atmosphere at the cast change last Sunday.

I hate to say this, but their casting policy is a mess. First they have to cancel performances for 2 weeks because they didn't start rehearsing their new cast in time, and now they have to get an ex-cast member back because they didn't cast their new Daniela in time.

It's been a disaster. They've known a lot of cast were leaving for a while but left it too late. It's like they really didn't know what was going to happen to the show. Maybe they were seriously considering closing it until not long before September the 4th.
I am a bit tempted to go and see Jocasta as Daniela but I'd rather try and see all the new cast so will probably wait until October.

I'm not surprised, some of the previous replacement cast members had barely any rehearsal and if they had any before their first performance it wasn't with the full cast. They're not very organised it seems...

They had known that for months. They couldn't have been considering to close the show earlier than was initially announced only to then extend the run with a few months.

That was when it was booking until but it wouldn't be the first time a show closed before the date it was booking to. Whatever the reason, it's just been terrible planning by somebody or somebodies.

Aren't they limited because of the railway children playing as well. Surely their rehearsal in the theatre would have been when railway children is playing in order for the former cast to do a show in the evening, which is not possible therefore they have to rehearse on show time and can't perform ? That's what I assumed was happening

That's what I assumed was happening I think they usually rehearse most of it in a rehearsal room and then have a few put in rehearsals on stage. Nothing to justify the long break Stage rehearsal for this would take at least a week if they had access to the theatre like any other long running show but the fact that they have to put the set and everything back from the railway children performance during the day probably mean it would take longer. They have to go through the entire show on stage to make sure staging is good and people know what to do with the actual props and set (the laders are probably gonna take a while) as well as having a look at the choreography and making sure everyone stands in the right position. The blackout scene must also take a while to make sure that people don't run into each other in the dark as I'm assuming they didn't turn off and on the lights in the rehearsal room (even though I think it would be pretty funny)

Appears that there is now an alternate Kevin. Assume this means there will be scheduled show(s) off each week for David?
