Ahhh this was previously booked in to come to Plymouth in Jan 2018 when they usually have a big musical. Maybe it's been bumped to Jan 2019 now it's not opening until March 2018.

For Sunderland, MK and Manchester, ATG members can be naughty and book their tickets from 19th April. The revolting general sale starts a week later.

Guys do you expect Southampton and Bristol to appear on the tour? Think they're both down for 2019.

My 6 year old is now super excited! And they weren't even conceived when this show first opened. They are one of the post-MatildaTheMusicaliarian generation.

Hopefully Edinburgh or Glasgow gets added to this but I'm too impatient to wait till 2019 so looks like I'll be doing a bit of travelling next year.

I *think* Edinburgh is Christmas 2019...it's certainly going there at some point, just can't remember for sure if it's Christmas or not, but that tends to be when they get the "mega Musicals"

This should probably go in the unpopular opinions thread but...no matter how hard I try I can't seem to muster up a desire to see this? I LOVED the book as a child (I mean bookish nerd like Matlida isn't a great surprise) but attempts to listen to the score have never succeeded and I find myself recoiling whenever EP plays it on her show. Help? is this a 'you have to see it to love it' thing or am I better cutting my losses?

I would say get a cheap ticket if you can for when it's in Cardiff/if you're in London, and you might just be surprised

I do want to like it...but currently the score makes me feel like fingernails on a blackboard haha. I shall get a cheapish ticket in Cardiff for the tour so not to feel like I 'wasted' a London slot should I not like it after all!

Haha I have a six year old and a three year old who know all the words and religiously listen to the soundtrack. Don't think I've influenced them into being stagey at all.....

I was the other way around. I didn't like the show when I saw it, but do like the CD a lot. I feel better that I may not be alone if I turn out not to like it...

I really don't want children on my stage at all where possible. Babies are distracting in the same way that dogs are, and anyone older just comes over as a noxious li'l stage school brat, all artifice and cut-glass RP (unless playing regional). That said, they do pretty well with tempering these issues in Matilda and I have loved it every time I've seen it.

That said, they do pretty well with tempering these issues in Matilda and I have loved it every time I've seen it. This is also my issue. At the risk of being called a child-hater (meh what the hell people do anyway) I have a strong aversion to any childrens on stage. But hey ho if I can swing a cheap ticket in Cardiff I'll go at least to tick it off my list.

I don't like the show or score I'm afraid. I would say it's to do with an aversion to stage children as well but Sydney Lucas is still in my list of the best performances I've ever seen.

Manchester tickets most seats between £50-£70 unless you want to sit in the gods. #cashingin

Tickets go on general sale for most venues tomorrow, including Leicester if you're interested in an opening night ticket.

Leicester are advertising £5 tickets on the day for 16-25, as in London! I *think* this is going to be a fixture on the whole tour.

Especially because touring venues rarely do Day seats or anything similar, so people may not realise it even exists depending on the marketing, so potentially it could be relatively straightforward to get tickets!

Just booked for WMC, no issues with website, lots of tickets no fuss at all! Friend and I decided to give it a go, despite both being a bit 'not sure I'll love this' so went for side balconies which were a reasonable £28.
Jeez 2019....
