So far a great evening! 42nd Street did a wonderful closing to act 1 and Hamilton opened really well. I think catherine’s doing really well - it’s fun in the room anyway! Currently sat across the isle from the ensemble of Hamilton which is sort of epic ...

Well I hope all of you there are having a great time. The closest I’ve got to the Royal Albert Hall tonight is seeing it on TV in a scene from Spiceworld The Movie.

Overall a mixture of winners which is nicer than a clean sweep. Sad for Jamie which I really think deserved better. Though I haven’t seen it I sense Girl From The North Country was well deserved wins too.
For my personal “horse in the race” I’m so pleased Angels got Revival, and truly deserved. I do think Marianne deserved to win for steering that beast. McArdle lost to a worthy opponent and he’ll have plenty of chances yet. And of course Queen Denise was a worthy winner. I am slightly bitter about Andrew, if he’d lost to other Andrew less so, but I did feel they were ahead of the other nominees in their category. But hey ho...

In the room she was hilarious! Clearly not great at reading an autocue though! None of the presenters had autocue, just Catherine.

I would have put Paddy Considine before Bryan Cranston for best actor, but anyways, congratulations to The Ferryman, I'm not that much of a musical fan and wasn't overly impressed by Hamilton but congratulations to them as well, it was pretty obvious even before it opened that they were going to win a shedload of awards.

So glad Hamilton got Best Musical (duh, we all knew it) and Giles won Best Actor in a Musical.
Shocked 42nd Street didn't win Best Revival.

So the Guardian says if you wanted a seat for Hamilton you'd have to wait until a Thursday matinee in August. And yet having just gone on the Delfont Mackintosh website, there are seats ( premium ) for virtually every performance except in July. While none of us can deny its a hit and to a great extent deserves to be, I can't help but be annoyed that the show's PR are prone to exageration and worse than that the Guardian doesn't even check a fact such as that when it is handed to them.

So glad Jamie got nothing So glad 42nd Street got nothing except costume. They can still run expensive TV adverts to get people in at £15. When they’re not papering.

Watching the telly edit now. Tate a bit laboured. I expect you had to be there....

Every year you think this can't get any worse, and every year it does. Just horrific.

Watching the telly edit now. Tate a bit laboured. I expect you had to be there.... I was trying to work out why she was shouting at the beginning, considering that she was mic'd up! She also looks like she's wearing a dress made of curtains.

No she isn’t that bad. From the telly watching point of view, you don’t actually need a compère. By the way, the two Andrews woz robbed.

Watching on Facebook in the States. Love poor Ophelia forgetting wrong speech for Denise Gough... and Catherine Tate is a treasure.

That 42d Street number was so underwhelming... maybe it was the camera angle - the smaller stage - It may be impressive live - but this didn't really sell it for me.

I didn't agree with the amount of awards Hamilton won and definitely not with Michael Jibson winning over Cleve September, but I couldn't helo but cry everytime they won something else. I hate to sound soppy, while a British musical deserved those awards - Hamilton truely changed my life and seeing it being appreciated will always make me emotional.

King George is a blink and you'll miss it affair yet Clare Halse grafts on stage that entire show and nothing. Yes, I am still bitter about this!

Tracie Bennett was all over the place. I know she was given free reign to do what she liked during the run of Follies, but tonight's performance wasn't great.
I'm glad to see the awards spread between so many shows.

So far - I'm about half an hour behind - it seems to be less excruciatingly dreadful than the telecast has been in previous years, and they've done a reasonably good job of filming the musical numbers. Compared to some of their past horrors, this is a big step up.

I’m just home from tonight - I had a really amazing evening. This was my first year at the ceremony, and the first year where I felt personally invested in it (I had a friend that was in Follies). I also saw a large portion of what was on offer, so was glad that I went.
People may not have been happy with Catherine Tate, but I felt she did really well - and was certainly well received in the room. Yes she swore several times but rectified that as soon as she realised she was on the radio too. She was possibly a little out of her depth, but I thought she was good.
Overall, I’m relatively happy with the results. Some of my favourites didint win (Janie Dee, Tracie Bennett, Cleve September and the Angels boys - James and Andrew being my specifics) but fully appreciate why Shirley Henderson and Sheila Atim did - GFTNC was riveting. I’m thrilled Giles won for Hamilton. I yelled about it from the second I saw him and am so glad. But if tonight did anything, it gave Clare Halse the opportunity to go ‘hey look I’m bloody brilliant and should be in this cateogry’ By closing act 1 in such a perfect way.
