I don't know why I am watching this - I really must get a life.
So next week 4 "bands" compete in the semi final. Assuming there are 3 bands left in the final, next week does just the lowest scoring band leave or are they repeating this weeks nonsense of choosing 5 guys from the 2 lowest scoring bands. Does anyone know? Do the producers know?
I suspect that the winning band will be from one of the two that have gone straight through - having had more time together to rehearse harmonies etc. and do this "essential bonding". Thus I am convinced that several poorer performers in that group will be carried through.
Why do I care? Nurse.... more medication!

These twists are just a foil to manipulate the chosen ones to the final.
They ought to call the winning band The Chosen.

It struck me last night when they started to weed out people in the "vote off sing off"! As for theories about the ability to act, what's that got to do with it? These shows are about want. "I want to be in a west end show" and that is all it takes. These people (with a couple of exceptions) don't want to train for a couple of years in college, get to know the disciplines and techniques of performing - they just well, want! All that training is no substitute for singing round the house and entertaining me mams mates who say I've got "it". As for the promoters, well they just want to build an audience. Now I want to be Paul Schofield, so will someone please put on a tv show for middle aged men with grey hair to star in a west end revival of "A man for all seasons" please, 'cos I want, and I've done some acting before and me mam and her mates said I was good. Thank you.

I'm actually quite enjoying this now. Isn't part of the fun disagreeing with lots of it?! I think Five to Five might as well be cast now, and stop all this mucking about. Although it would be fun to put together a B-team of alternates/understudies/ensemble from the remaining boys; which for me would include Jason, Huw, Alexis & Matt, and possibly Danny and Connor. I was surprised that Anthony was let go, he at least had a personality and presence. Other than that they seemed (once more) to lose the least good looking, paying particular attention to those whose haircuts were shaved a bit too much at the sides. I thought the Pitch Perfect style acapella battle at the start was a bit of a mess all round. It gave Martin Kemp something to do though. And I failed to see the relevance of Rikki Lake at all! Al those Jersey Boys were a bit scary, have they all been in the show? Wonder if the elimination format will be the same next week? If so it seems a bit unfair to have a third band in the final that has only just been cobbled together. But I'm hooked now.

Five to Five seem to be the one most of the Take That superfans are supporting so it all seems inevitable.

The bands' names have clearly been assigned to subliminally influence the voting proclivities of certain audience sectors.

Or, it could just be the usual state of affairs that the Kremlin has fixed the vote.

These twists are just a foil to manipulate the chosen ones to the final. They ought to call the winning band The Chosen. Totally agree, it was so obvious Saturday night, this way they get to track all the 'seasoned' west end performers who they know can dance/act/sing to the final show and remove the ones they don't fancy.

I'm actually glad they're doing that because in every band there's at least one person that doesn't seem up to the task. That's what you get when you put them in bands after the auditions. They should have kept them individually and then at the end just picked the best 5 guys.

But now it's only 8 weeks, which is also quite short.

At least they will shoehorn a Take That performance featuring Robbie Williams into final week to plug their new single and tour

Only 2 groups managed to nail the vocals in the opening. The first one and then some trio of old guys who weren't too bad

Why are they bothering to carry on? Five to Five are clearly the strongest team!

Iron Sun's vocals are all over the place - very little strength or understanding of the genre until Alexis got his solo.
Choreography is not as demanding as Five to Five

The last note of Iron Sun's song was horrible.

Not as horrible as the vocals throughout Drive's number - which was weak on all fronts

"Kimberly Walsh has come along to give the band some advice"
This is like a comedy!

Why are they bothering to carry on? Five to Five are clearly the strongest team! Strange song choices for other bands to exploit their weaknesses and dull choreography. I wonder who they want to win...

Nightfall was just a series of solos with very little harmony work
Choreo was bland as well. Too wide age range for them to be a credible boy band - just looks creepy

Was I watching a different Nightfall performance?
I thought some of that singing was very suspect.

I'm catching up with this show and have watched tonight's episode, plus the previous two. Last week I thought there were three pretty good groups (the ones that got through) and actually thought Iron Sun were particularly fun. This week Five to Five was the strongest by quite a bit, but I still think that tall red-haired Scottish (I think) drummer guy from Iron Sun has something special about him - could imagine somehow his being winkled into the final group, if such a thing can happen.

That is the fairest result - but Five to Five are head and shoulders above Nightfall - the audience reaction was clear on that. It would be interesting to see the voting stats
