Too early to start hoping for a cast reunion concert?

After Ben Brantley’s review it's going to Broadway.

Cannot wait to see what musical Ms Elliot takes a smash at next. I feel sorry for her, she's got to beat this!

I'd like her to do an Andrew Lloyd Webber!
Or Kander and Ebb!

If she takes on another Sondheim, he said he'd push her towards Assassins. Road Show has been in the UK hasn't it? At The Menier with Michael Jibson & David Bedella. Maybe it was called one of the many other titles it's known by (Wise Guys? Bounce?). I saw it but have very little recollection of the production other than understanding why it had never been successfully produced before. The book is a mess and the score like a bad Sondheim mash-up of his back catalogue.

I'd still like to have the opportunity to see it. Sorry you didn't like it.

Road Show wasn’t that good. The Menier staging was good though - seats were set out like a fashion show with it performed along the middle.

Agree that the staging was extremely good. Very minimal catwalk staging with crates and a few tables from what I remember. I liked the music and the gay ‘The best thing that ever happened’ I found revelatory at the time. I’d love to see HarperElliott have a go at it as I think it’s a bit of a gem. Can’t see an immediate role for Patti, but perhaps she can tear tickets. 🤫

Congrats to Company on a great run! I’m not a huge fan of Company of of itself but as quality of productions go this one is pretty hard to beat. I think this will be a great asset to Broadway if it transfers over ❤️
I'd probably agree with that overall. I was bowled over by the direction, design and of course the performances, but as a musical piece, it was about a 3.5 out of 5 for me - I didn't wholeheartedly connect with it.
Yeah same! It’s not a musical I have ever really connected with. Tbh I feel like that about a lot of Sondheim, lol!

I really like Road Show. Bernadette Peters was in a post Bounce / pre Roadshow workshop. I presume playing the mother, so bringing this back on topic, Pattie could play that part.
If I had my way I would insert My two young men in at the start and Little House for Mamma after Adison's big speech on how to change American architecture and then the show would be perfect!!!!!

Well I have to say I’m rather gutted I can’t skip along to Company now on a whim. Definitely think the first west end revival should start on the Tuesday after Easter. No need for a Broadway transfer. After all the Piccadilly Line can take any Americans directly to it from Heathrow. 🇺🇸

I’m so sad that I couldn’t see this one last time, but reading the last performances thread made me happy.
This was the first show that I have seen more than once. Turns out the Theatre Board is good company for me, would never have seen it if it weren’t for this forum.
I would go to NY to see it if I weren’t boycotting the US until Trump is gone.

Mel G and Patti LuPone would never have ever put them two together in all of my life; most unlikely friendship of 2018? I love it!

Mel G didn't get nearly enough praise for her work in Company. I've seen a lot of different productions of the show, and I've never seen a funnier version of the karate scene than this one.

Couldn’t agree more. Mel and Gavin were both absolutely excellent.
