That's actually last week now. In the current week I am going to see Jane Eyre at the NT (somewhat shame-faced, as I returned my ticket for its previous stay there as it sounded dire but from reviews of the tour, either it has improved/been tweaked, or I was wrong, or both), followed by What Shadows at the Park, plus the return of Thebes Land to the Arcola. To be followed by one other play, yet to be chosen from a list of strong contenders, all due to finish that day.

This weekend: The Ferryman and Girl from the North Country on Saturday, then on Sunday a staged reading at Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. And then, back to the airport only to return two weeks later! I'm getting too old for this.

It is a flexible space I have seen proscenium and studio style. Pippin was apparently a thrust. So you pays you producer's money and you takes your choice! Gypsy Queen is a good reason to visit!

Seeing the Spanish version of The Bodyguard (El Guardaespaldas) next Thursday in Madrid.
I also bought tickets for the Spanish versions of Billy Elliot and Next to Normal (Casi Normales), both in Madrid as well.
I'm glad they are bringing new musical adaptations to my country for a change, instead of reviving Mamma Mia or The Sound of Music again.

Seeing The Fall at the Royal Court this afternoon. Bit of an impulse booking to be honest! No idea what it'll be like.

I was in Madrid in May, and noticed Billy Elliot was due to open . I'd be interested to know if it's a success there? Do the audience "get" the background story of the miners strike ? I was surprised to see see it playing in Budapest as well, I always thought Billy Elliot would be too British in its setting for European audiences .

On Friday I shall be heading to the Nash to see 'Saint George and the Dragon'. To be honest I thought Sid James and Peggy Mount had long gone but it'll be nice to see them.
I jest of course. If anyone tries to get between me and The Heff they can just heff off.
