Finally managed to catch this yesterday. I was blown away by Helen - what a fantastic Glinda! I thought the entire cast was superior to that of the current London one to be honest...

Just booked my tickets for closing night in Manchester. £27.50 for the back of the dress circle which I thought was a great deal considering it's closing night, and I've seen the show enough to know what happens so I don't need to be up close.

I was very tempted too but the crazies are all going and my tolerance levels towards them are low (having encountered them several times on this tour previously).
Therefore, I think I'd rather go on another date where I will be able to enjoy the show without hysterical attention seeking nonsense and then say thanks to the cast personally at the Stage Door when it is quiet.

£48 for the back of the stalls on a Tuesday night. Must be having a laugh.

My ticket said restricted legroom. Just thought “oh well, I’m never gonna see anything else at that price”. How bad is it? I’m 6”2. Anyone with experience of The Palace? Back of dress circle.

I sat in these seats during the last tour. The legroom is tight but I think you'll be fine. Also to note that the very end of DG is cut off due to overhang. It's only when the lift moves up that touch more during the 'bring me down's' that you can't see her. You'll be fine apart from that! Great view from those seats! 👍🏼

At 6’6” I found the seats in the circle fairly tight and extremely low so have needed ear protectors to stop my knees hurting them. Probably less so towards the back than the front though and the view is good. Have definitely had worse!

It's the last press night of the Tour tonight. Yes-booked a last minute ticket for tonight without realising that! The noise of all the teenage girls behind me in the stalls is deafening. Hope I'm not going to regret this...

I went to the matinee today. I am going to miss everyone of them so much, they're all very special to Wicked.

Tonight was fantastic. Got a restricted view seat in row BB of the stalls but didn't miss much, was really good to see it up closer than I have done before, really got to appreciate all the costumes too. Nice to see a different chemistry between the witches, thought they worked well together.

I’m afraid to report that I really am over this. I thought I was after the last night of the last tour and said I’d never go again but when it’s playing across the street from your front door it’s hard not to go have a look.
I’m not taking away from the central performances (except Fiyero, see below) but the whole thing just seems lame. Yes I’m almost ten years older and I’ve seen a great deal more stuff in the intervening years but I swear that compared to the very first time I saw it (Ellis) the characterisations have been progressively dumbed down to the point where it’s now almost cartoonish. I know it seems ridiculous that it wouldn’t have always been the case given the subject matter, but my earlier experiences of it including the first tour, were that it was much more subtly played, with a lot more wit.
And so to Fiyero. This is the fellow whose supposed to have charisma enough to stretch all the way to the Statue of the Unsung Munchin. I doubt this one’s charisma could carry him out of the front door. Also, in his moment to shine, he may have been dancing through life but his singing was as flat as a witch’s tit if you’ll forgive the Albert Steptoe reference. I actually winced. Absolutely dreadful.
Impeccably behaved audience. Maybe Tuesday nights don’t attract ‘them’.

There's only a few seats here and there dotted around for the last two weeks of the tour. As they are single seats you'd think they'd reduce them and get them sold like most other venues have. No. The prices really are ridiculous.

No. The prices really are ridiculous. It’s ridiculous! I went to the box office last night at 19:25 and they were charging £67.50 for a single, restricted view seat in the stalls. The seats were reduced at the start of the run, but I was told that there’s ‘no more discounting for the rest of the run’.

They've even stopped doing student/u25 discount. It's like they don't want to sell the remaining tickets. Would they rather have a more seats sold at a reduced price, which equals more profit or no seats sold because they're extortionate. I've seen a fair few shows on this tour and have been 6 of the venue, without even thinking about my closing night trip - Manchester has already been the most expensive venue so far.
Last week I went to purchase tickets for shows and there was single seats for the Saturday evening performance available at £31. The next day when I went to purchase the actual ticket because I'd been paid. The price had increased to £60+, which I actually rang ATG about to complain. I can understand not reducing any firther tickets but reinstating the price of already reduced tickets was too far.

I kind of lucked out a bit with Manchester. My ticket for the final show came to £31 and looking at similar seats for the same show, they are no longer at that price. Maybe they’ve realised repeat visitors tend to get single seats at lower prices and they want to try and profit while they have the chance?

There must be a tipping point that they reach say 95% of capacity (or something similar) and don’t then worry about selling the final couple of seats. If they sold the seat at £30 versus not selling at all it won’t impact their overall profitability so they can leave it at £70 and if it sells it sells!

Last week they were saying about ‘best availability this Thursday’ and now it seems all the performances are almost full the price has shot up! It’s just frustrating how the seats were £25 and now they’re £70! And how some venues, such as Sunderland had £25 seats and £15 student tickets yet Manchester have nothing! Bit miffed that other venues have been really good about discounting and now it’s nearing the end they just want to squeeze every single penny they can! But it’s a business and that’s how it works I suppose!

£55 for seats at the very back of the Grand Tier is a total ripoff considering how high up it is and the fact that you’ll miss facial expressions and all the fine details on costumes and sets. I paid the same price for a seat in the front of the stalls at Sunderland and it was so close to the action. It seems ATG/the producers want to rip off any potential buyers with this leg of the tour.

Just read on another site there was a witch switch in Act 2 last night. Nikki Bentley tweeted saying Amy Webb was on last night. Does anyone know who is on today?

Amy Ross last performed st the matinee on the 19th december. Since then Nikki Bentley has been playing Elphaba.
Amy Ross returned last night (28th December) but went off after the interval, guessing she came back too soon. She was replaced by Amy Webb.
As for today - it could be anyone! It always seems to be at the end of every tour Elphabas contract they go (pretty certain it’s happened to all four!)

It appears from Instagram that Amy Ross has a cold/flu again, there was a post about her immune system letting her down! So whilst it’s disappointing Amy is off again it does seem to be illness related rather than vocal problems like many tour Elphabi before her!
EDIT: and when I say disappointing, that’s in no way a criticism of Amy, it’s disappinting she’s not able to wow the Manchester audiences as she’s fricking awesome!!!

I’m really hoping that Amy will be back to close out the tour. I heard she was meant to be back tonight? I have a friend in and it is her third attempt at seeing Amy. She went to Edinburgh and there was a witch switch, and both times she went to Sunderland it was Nikki.

We had Jackie for the matinee and then Ashleigh did the evening......

Amy Webb is on as Elphaba tonight, I assume she was also on for the Matinee too.
With no disrespect to the other Amy’s/Nikki, I wonder if Amy Goodwin will have a chance to go on as Elphaba tomorrow, or at some point next week as there are 9 shows? Let’s hope for her sake!

If they’re down to Amy Webb then it means Amy G will be on Standby for Elphaba so fingers crossed she gets a green show!
Selfishly I need 4 hours notice to get there from Cardiff but after a stella two year swing run Amy definitely deserves the chance to be green!
