I do wonder what sort of salary the celebrities are being paid during their appearance on Strictly. I know that the fee isn't a flat fee, it varies from person to person. And the fee is related to how long you stay in the show, so if you leave week one or two you'll get significantly less than if you're a finalist. I did a Strictly themed cruise last year and was in Strictly Heaven! We had six dancers on board, who performed several shows in the theatre, Arlene, Russell Grant, one of the costume makers and one of the producers. All were happy to chat around the ship, and all were happy to pose for photographs with or without us in. With only one small exception (not a pro dancer) all were lovely. There were fashion shows and question and answer sessions with everyone too, hosted by the ship's Entertainment Director. These proved to be fascinating and very revealing. One of the questions put to the costume maker was about the biggest challenges she faces. She explained that there were many, including the expected change down in size for all the celebrities. Each has their own costume dummy made at the beginning of the show, and it can be made smaller and smaller as the weeks go by. Then she said that the BIGGEST challenge had been to conceal a male celebrity's oversized member! She said that to do so they had made it its own "hammock" (her word not mine...) and that she was thankful that he had only done ballroom (hence baggier trousers) before he got voted off! When I caught her on her own, I asked who it was. (I wonder how many times she was asked that question... Probably just the once.) She refused to name him, but gave clues: he was an older celebrity, and he was voted off early. I did Google and think I found the answer...

Tee hee! Who do you think it is? (I don't know for certain, it's only a theory, but it's one shared by some of the friends I told!)

We're in the right area...
(But remember, John S was in it for ages. In fact, he walked as he said he thought it was unfair to those who could actually master the dances!)

Ahhh! But that was Jeremy Kyle. He's never been in the show... Jeremy Vine was, but he's not a contender for this as the talk I attended was prior to his involvement!

Rather coincidental... Just switched the TV on, and he's staring at me from the box! (So to speak.)

Yes! Willie Thorne! Willie... You couldn't make it up really, could you? (Remember, this is only my theory- along with that of lots of friends' who were in on the "research" which involved careful scrutiny of Google, Google images and Youtube. Thorough, aren't we?!)

This must have been before my time because I've never heard of this person.
It's at times like this you become incredibly aware that you're the foreigner.

theatremadness, if you can send me a SAE, I will post you the hammock as a prize for guessing correctly. The costume lady presented it to me as a souvenir of my curiosity.

I don't know if this will help, but if you scroll down these celebs in undies: www.leicestermercury.co.uk/willie-thorne-and-other-celebrities-pose-in-pants-for-charity-here-are-the-pictures/story-29680042-detail/story.htmlI'm feeling optimistic about this series. I quite like when unlikely people like Ed Balls are on the show - I sort of think it makes it - while I'm less interested in the Hollyoaks/presenter folks. I think Will Young is going to be great fun (#HelpWill) and Daisy Lowe seems delightful. Tameka was really good doing the Comic Relief dance and has tonnes of personality. Natalie and Greg seem a great pairing and will be really competitive. I too was sad the ginger pro didn't get a partner. I wish they'd ditch Anton, he's my least favourite and is the poorest choreographer. He seems to make fun of his partners rather than support and teach them (poor Judy Murray.) Love pro Joanne as a blonde. Kevin - always good value.

Willis Thorn's worn hammock. eBay beckons.
It annoys me that SCD now make us hang about for 3 weeks. They should pre record the meet and greet episode and then run the whole thing with no gap.

Did anyone go and see that tour that CRH did a couple of years ago starring Lisa Riley and a couple of other strictly names? I didn't, it sounded a bit odd.
I saw Lisa last year in the first class lounge at Euston stuffing free shortbread biscuits in her gob whilst gassing on a mobile and not missing a beat in the conversation. Then I saw her on This Morning or something last week and she's gone all thin. I thought she looked better fat.

Love pro Joanne as a blonde. Kevin - always good value. I knew we could rely on someone on the board to come up with a chosen celebrity in pants... Now... I'm gonna have to be completely honest here, as a bit if an *cough* expert in this field... but Willie doesn't look like he's hiding a Mega-willie, does he? The clues were definitely: older celebrity, an earlier series rather than more recent, left the show early. Foxtrot was also mentioned in relation to the more loosely fitting trousers. We all Googled independently and he was the result. But perhaps we were wrong... stanne, don't worry! It might be someone else. But who...?

Steady, Burly... Someone from the PC Police will be along any minute to arrest you, throw you into the Cook County Jail and throw away the key. You could still be singing the Cell Block Tango come the Final.
