I think this will be a good tour, glad it's on the road again. I wonder why most tours don't announce the full tour dates straight away? Multiple reasons - later venues may not have contracts confirmed at the same time as early venues, if there's venues close together i.e. Birmingham and Wolves, Salford and Manchester, they may not want to push customers to one date or the other, in the hope that they book Venue A first and enjoy the show, then when Venue B is announced, book there too.

Ah that's a shame. Surprised it isn't going to Wimbledon it Woking but I presume more venues will be added. Guildford is relatively near London. Also they will probably add in a date over Christmas, maybe Brighton? It isn't going anywhere inside the M25 this time. Whether that means they may be looking at a return to London, I don't know.

Oh isn't it? Sad I wonder if it will go to Woking as lots of big musicals go there. It's going to Guildford which is probably the nearest not to London. Wonder if it might go to Brighton too? However on Pocketsize they've got dates up to May 2018 so maybe that's all the dates they're doing this time

I don't think they went through with it in the end Nothing has been said either way I've heard it isn't going back to the west end from a reliable source. Presume that is the reason it is touring again and the fact it is such a well loved show Heard that few months ago.

So who do people think will be chosen as Velma? I ask because I honestly thought it could of been Samantha Womack but now she's in Addams Family

I'm so glad this is coming to Belfast I know it's not a great replica production like the previous but I do like seeing different designs.

Thinking about it Olivier Award Winner Rachel Leskovac would be a BRILLIANT Velma. She is amazing in Hollyoaks currently and because she plays a marvellous villain in that, she would NAIL Velma!! Would like to see that happen

Open auditions for Tracy Turnblad. Wonder what they're filming? Unless it's just for Promo but rare to have the audition stage filmed.

The call went out as you posted it? Including the green underlined grammar errors AND the green underlining?
Very amateurish.

It appeared on my timeline from this person so no idea if it was posted elsewhere in that format or just to his facebook friends.

So annoyed I can't audition for this, it's a role I could feasibly play but I'm 5'4''!

Do we know if it's the cheap nasty low budget tour or a proper professional version ?

Sorry for any confusion - it's just the difference between the original and current touring versions of the show. The first two tours were the original West End production, the subsequent two have been massively cut-back productions. Yes, it's the same infectiously wonderful music (which I love about the show) but the physical production, the sets and design etc has been dumbed down so much from the original - people watching it for the first time probably wouldn't notice, but for return viewers it's quite noticeable.

^ Fair enough. Hopefully it will be a strong cast and they'll have improved the sets.
I haven't seen it live before so I'm looking forward to it!

Tracy's wig looks terrible too especially in the promo video for the tour. I don't think I have ever seen a wig use so many hair slides/grips/pins before. It does not look as good as the original production.

What's wrong with "chubby"? Anyone with a knowledge of American teenage slang of a certain era may tell you that... Are you trying to get a rise out of me @theatremonkey?
