I also detest heat. And (see 'How was your day' thread) spent yesterday in a sweltering tent in Bristol. Partly for the heat reason I declined to go to 'The Other Room' in Cardiff Friday which (god love it/them) is an oversized cupboard that heats up like an oven.
I may however go an lie on the marble/tiled/whatever it is floor of the WMC foyer at lunchtime because it's always cool in there.

Agreed, if if givent he choice, I'd rather be too cold than too hot. My mentality is always you can put on more clothes if you are too cold, but there is only so much you can take off if it is too hot haha.

I'm far too pale/ginger/generically Celtic in origin for this weather. I need rain, cold and grey skies to survive.

Oh gurl, I just need day drinking, some booty shorts and a trip to the local gay bar and I'm feelin' the fantasy enough to not care about the heat anymore and worry about the heatstroke tomorrow.

I am another who would rather be too cold than too hot.
Someone mentioned Southwark - I was there last week and it felt a bit too warm for my liking but not enough to ruin my enjoyment of the show.
Ones that stick in my mind as being uncomfortably hot are Charing Cross Theatre and Arts Theatre.
I was at the Soho theatre a few weeks back and it was freezing - lovely in this weather!

Doesn't matter what the temperature is outside - you'll need a cardy at the Chocolate Factory. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Would far rather be too hot than too cold; have got a list of theatres I don't go to past October, with the Union at the top... Me too abby-once I'm cold there's no shifting it. Although my hot flushes are doing quite a good job at present!

The hot weather makes me feel ill so always like the cold. I remember Union Theatre last year it has no aircon no air going around I found it difficult to breathe and kept yawning.

Just a warning that the Union was borderline unbearable last night during Blondel and the outdoor temperature was pretty cool. I was quite close to a portable air con unit which only succeeded in masking some of the quieter dialogue; it had no discernible effect on the temperature. I can't imagine what the temperature was like in there on Wednesday.
I still really enjoyed the show though.

Sorry to dig up such an old thread but it seemed better than starting a new one. Does anyone have exlerience of what the Finborough's like in hot weather? I'm supposed to be going there tomorrow and, given the weather forecast, I'm worrying.

The Arts theatre centre stalls was freezing last week. I moved to the very back to avoid the vent. The Arts is a pain as it has double the number of air conditioners in the stalls compared to the circle, and heat rises so... you can freeze the audience downstairs whilst the one upstairs is still roasting. Still too much air con is better than none there, I remember feeling my eyeballs melt during American Idiot.

Southwark Playhouse was horrendous for Working last summer, I smelt like a rancid kebab after the performance .
The dress circle of Leeds Grand was very hot yesterday.

Air conditioning in the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Wyndham's yesterday were both perfect (shame about the fire alarm going off ad us all getting evacuated at Wyndham's but you can't have everything I guess)

What a cool thread!
Too hot is far worse than too cold. You can dress for too cold but, other than for "Hair" at the Waterloo Vaults, you can't undress for hot.

In what I can only consider a merciful act of providence, the Finborough have had to cancel today's shows due to electricity problems from last night's lighting so I am spared potentially boiling there today!

They sent me an email before midday to say it was cancelled, so I was able to phone the box office of the show I was supposed to be seeing this evening & move my ticket to the matinee.

Maybe because it's not their own website? There was no announcement on their website till well after you let us know. And I haven't got an email from them yet. What is annoying is that I might have got into another play (although not much available on Sundays) if they had not sold me the tickets when they must have known they had to cancel. But I'll go and have some serious Japanese food and see "On Chesil Beach" instead. And on the positive side thanks to you I won't need to traipse all the way to the Finborough for nowt! So thanks again.

And on the positive side thanks to you I won't need to traipse all the way to the Finborough for nowt! So thanks again. Glad I could help. I've been cancelled on by fringe theatres a couple of times before at the last minute - including one time when I spent about half an hour waiting confusedly outside a shut theatre because they hadn't bothered to send any staff to tell the patrons - so I know how frustrating it can be.
The Criterion's air con was working reasonably well this afternoon. This is the third summer running where I'm very relieved that my current favourite show is on at a theatre with air con!

The Empire Cinema was very very warm for last Sunday's Matinee performance of Brief Encounter, a woman along from us kept falling asleep and I have to admit it was making me a little bit sleepy! The cast also looked extremely sweaty, bless them.

NT foyer bits were uncomfortably warm and carpety yesterday - did they have the heating on? Ok inside the theatre, though.

I went to the Globe to see Much Ado About Nothing back in March when it snowed. 2 hours in -3 degrees, couldn’t feel my feet but the cast were flawless! Does that count?

It wasn't too bad yesterday afternoon.
