Which dates are you seeing it on? I looked at the last week of July and it’s not on sale then either. I’ve not found any dates with availability at the back. Just had a look at website and yes, seems to have disappeared again. Interestingly the first three rows of the stalls have also been taken off sale in their entirety for all dates - bit odd! Also lots of them have already been sold so not sure what sense it takes removing the rest of them. Strange! They’ve probably done it temporarily to force people to buy the more expensive tickets

They’ve probably done it temporarily to force people to buy the more expensive tickets Or they've realised the pit isnt big enough and the need to secure even more space for the set. That did cross my mind. Certainly, assuming set the same, front three rows of the side blocks shouldn't be on sale as you can't see anything. Centre blocks should be ok though. Especially at Dominion where there is a massive gap between row A and the pit. (Well, massive relative to other theatres). Wonder if/when they will contact people who've already bought tickets for front three rows. Separate question - does anyone know if they are planning an open ended run? Booking for 4 months currently. Know they are considering Broadway and Europe so at some point they must be thinking about whether to be open ended in London and build another set/get another company or continue with this model of basically touring but with very long sit downs! I guess it may depend on sales....

Re-back of the circle, I haven't checked in a couple of weeks but when the tickets went on sale they were being sold for Friday/Saturday shows but not Monday-Thursday. Weird to see the front 3 rows have gone off sale, from the very beginning they held off selling the front 3 rows in the side block on the left for every date, implying that you either won't be able to see anything so it's not worth buying them, or they're holding them back for TodayTix or dayseats or something.

Judging by the looks of it they're holding back all the cheaper seats, can barely find any £15/20 or £35 seats and I've looked at most Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening dates throughout the four months. Was going to book but I'm now holding off until they are put back on sale, if not then I'll just have to hope for dayseats or TodayTix rush/lottery

Hmm, this is weird. I have a seat booked in Row A in the stalls for May and now that I check the performance, it seems indeed that the first rows are no longer on sale. I haven't heard anything from them though about a need to exchange for other tickets, so I hope my seat still exists. At £55 it wasn't a super-cheap seat anyway, but still much better than the rows behind.

Hi
Can someone explain the partial nudity rating? Want to make sure it’s suitable for my family.
Thanks

I'm sure Ryan looked away at the point of the taking off of clothes. There is absolutely no need for gratuitous semi nudity in this day and age!! Well a bit here and there never did any harm.

Although *SPOILER*
How great that it is the older characters that do so rather than the nubile young things!

I really enjoy that most of the sexuality and lust comes from the parents, the two common themes through Steinman's work are not wanting to grow up and resentment at getting old, so watching two middle-aged people reminisce being 17 and having intense meaningless sex is just the pinnacle of his work

I never got to see Ben Purkiss’ Strat, and hoped he would stay on so that I could...selfish b@stard! 🙄

I wonder how the megachurch Hillsongs that uses the Dominion on Sundays for their services feel about the word HELL shinning bright over the top of their "church"... and how much of the "edgy" set will be visible during their services.

I heard that they’d convinced Hillsong that it was a modern representation of Mount Arrarat and they’ve swapped the flying bats out for doves.

I had a drive today, so enjoyed listening to the cast recording, I am familiar with Steinman/Meat Loaf through both Bat 🦇 Out Of Hell Albums, I think I bought the second one they say it came out, on cassette. Listening you can understand why this is popular and and I can see Bat Out of Hell doing steady business at the Dominion, is because Steinman’s score is breathtaking and is inherently musical, especially the closing song ‘I do anything for love, but I won’t do That’, with the excellent duet at the end.
What I am not familiar with is the song and it’s a brilliant song ‘What Part of my Body Hurts The Most’, was this written specially for this musical?

It’s hard to say what any Steinman song was “written for” because he’s been working on this show pretty much all his life, but the song was premiered back in 2006 as part of his Dream Engine project. This is the first official release though.

It was vaguely implied when Bat opened that the song was written for the show but actually it's been knocking around for about 10 years. Meat Loaf has never sung it though so it's new in that regard.

I still find it really peculiar that the only - obvious - option to purchase the soundtrack is to buy an imported CD via amazon for £25.

^ I would hope that once it’s open here the recording will be readily available for UK fans. Hopefully! But yes I agree it’s daft. I was only looking for this today on iTunes.

Odd, yeah. 2018 and no sign of a digital release. Granted the target audience are of the era that they went out and brought physical items, but thats no reason to exclude the digital market. And living 200miles away from London, I'm not going to make a trip specifically to HMV Oxford St to purchase it.

Maybe it’s the rights issue that was mooted when it was first discussed or some other reason we will never know. Either way, despite not capturing the feel of the show particularly well, it is worth £25 for Polec’s BOOH alone.

Granted the target audience are of the era that they went out and brought physical items A generation wary of "big business" and knowing what they give can be taken away, unless safely in our possession... I'm presumably the target audience remark alluded to and I bought vinyl and cassettes way back in the 80s, then moved to CDs in the 90s (still annoyed that I have some older cast recordings on vinyl only). Despite being an ancient crone now, I'm totally down with the kids (yea, right) and stream music on Spotify every day. Once in a while I buy the digital release of an album when I feel like supporting a young new artist whose music I discovered and enjoyed on Spotify. When it comes to musicals though, I still buy the CD to add to the collection. Maybe it's stupid but for me it's a different kind of owning something and feels more special, also for the reasons the Monkey mentions. That aside, I appreciate CDs (like this one) with a good booklet containing the lyrics and everything. It made me painfully aware of how much nonsense I used to sing when singing along with Bat out of Hell.

To be clear, I'm in no way dissing the physical release. I do still buy CDs where possible. I tend to stream an album via Spotify etc. and if I enjoy it I'll either get the full thing on iTunes or get the CD. I love flicking through the booklet to gain more information and actually experiencing the product.
I just think its strange that a physical CD would get released, rather silently, without too much promotion and without a concurrent digital release. Surely, especially with an artist like Meatloaf attached to it, I find it strange they've not pushed for a big phyical-digital release and shouted about it.

To me, the fact you can buy it in HMV Oxford Street doesn't scream "definitely released in the UK!". I've definitely bought imports there in the past, and I don't find it beyond the realms of possibility that they still might import stuff in if they think it's going to sell. Sure, we in the UK can buy this CD, but it doesn't automatically follow that it's been formally released in the UK yet.

I'm more annoyed that they still haven't announced whether the original leads are returning. I assume they are hoping to do one big press release to announce the cast (with or without new names), the CD release (physical and digital) in the UK and generally push ticket sales a bit closer to the opening date.
