Does anyone remember the prices from last year? Looking for stalls seats near the stage In taking the seats our for the Beanstalk they ended up being £175. I saw Peter Pan QDOS Panto at Birmingham Hipp in 2019 (?) and it was pretty dreadful. The crocodile was fun (it was massive, so one can only imagine what will happen at the Palladium) but otherwise it was very forgettable. Darren Day or Pat Sharpe was Captain Hook, I forget which... If people aren't bothered about sitting together / go solo and can wait for dynamic pricing to kick in, we split up when we saw the panto last year since the seats were cheaper. My solo seat in front of the beanstalk ended up being around £50, purchased >2 weeks before the performance.

Due to work I end up seeing a lot of pantos and must admit the Palladium one isn't my 1st choice. The production values are pretty good but the old gang is fairly predictable (even for panto) and often play themselves first and characters are lucky to get a look in. I admit I do prefer one where some thought has gone into how the old jokes/fan favs can be included into the show while adding to the story line, not blocking it. I don't think the team actually know - or perhaps like - the panto as at artform and think you can just treat it like a variety show and shove anything in forgetting storytelling or plot. The script is written by Paul Zerdin who has been using the same old schtick for years. In past pantos the story just seemed to peter - boom boom - out.And if I see the 12 days of Christmas one more time......At least Gary Wilmot tries a new novalty song most years. There's a thin line between being traditional and just lazy. For a brilliant example of a terrific panto look no further than Canterbury where Ben Roddy is dame every year but always does something NEW but also uses the "tried and tested" The Canterbury panto is so good - my partner hadn't been for like, 15 years but immediately recognised some of the classic songs but still felt super fresh

Prices for this are kind of insane. I don’t recall it ever being this expensive before, am I going crazy?

Average price for a Friday evening in January is just over £80.
I also presume the crock (or some large effect) is going in the stalls between E to G as those rows have been removed from sale for all dates - including a route to the aisle

Louis Gaunt and Frances Mayli McCann are Peter Pan and Wendy.

Interesting. I was expecting Sam Tutty. Why hasn't he been snapped up for something. He has such a lovely voice and so sweet.

Its freaking Peter Pan, not Peter Pan and Wendy. Not spending money on this stupid sounding production, plenty of others.

Peter Pan was traditionally played by a woman but gender swapping Hook and Tinkerbell is not something I've seen done before. Ironic how with so much gender neutral casting now that the tradition of ladies playing the principal boy in panto has gone out of fashion in more recent years. There has also been a trend to have actresses playing the ugly sisters in Cinderella in some pantos when the idea was always they were the Ugly sisters and looked grotesque and outrageous as they were played by men. When ladies play them they are often called the evil stepsisters as it doesn't seem right to have them called the ugly sisters.

I am just sick of changing everything that has been traditional. That is all. I do not have to be introduced to them and yes I know lower down in the email its just Peter Pan Introducing Peter Pan and Wendy

Restricted view front extreme sides of stalls have just been put up for sale - £20 each. Have grabbed one as sat in them for Jack and the Beanstalk last year and was very good value. Yes you're extremely close and do miss the rear of the stage, but compared to the prices elsewhere I recommend them.

There's only one seat available for single theatregoers (the rest are only available in 2s), so no prices for guessing where I'm sitting.

Hmm. Wondering just how bad C3 is. I haven't missed a Palladium panto since they came back, but wasn't prepared to pay this year's silly prices. However, I'm mindful of the comments re the front rows when the Wizard of Oz was in situ.

Fwiw, I sat row A extreme side last year and whilst the stage was high, I could see pretty much everything - especially as in the panto, they play everything front and centre. I've gone for C3 this time as it's the only one I can buy a single seat for, and if you look at last year's panto thread, people did say the extreme sides of row C were better than row A.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I’ve just booked for the Christmas Eve matinee 🎉 Booking felt a bit stressful with several attempts where the tickets I had chosen weren’t available, not being able to leave a single, and a moment where the system put a box into my basket instead. Still, am sure most of that was user error on my part!

Does anyone have any reviews of standing at the palladium in the Stalls for the Panto. Me and my family went a few years back and did standing in the dress circle for the Panto and it was fab but they don't seem to be selling that this year and a bit more trepidatious about standing in the stalls. How bad is the view and is it standing with somewhere to lean?

Back in good old form this year. Act 1 ended with a great special effect only the palladium can deliver. A tribute to Paul o Grady too.
