Had such a soft spot for Starter for Ten, absolutely loved it! Fingers crossed for a transfer (admittedly with a couple of little tweaks)

Dorian Gray, closely followed by Till The Stars Come Down - both spectacular in their own way.

Starter for Ten at Bristol Old Vic, and Matthew Bourne's New Adventures Edward Scissorhands. Both wonderful, albeit in very different ways. ‘Starter for Ten’ was certainly the most surprisingly enjoyable. I was discussing it with a friend who had seen it from the uncomfortable gods at the BOV, and he didn’t enjoy it as much but could certainly see the promise. I do think that it needs to stay in smaller playhouses rather than go big, because its charm played a major part. Internationally, my favourite was ‘& Juliet’ on Broadway, even without Lorna Courtney (who had something more pressing to do on a Saturday night). It just made more ‘sense’ with an American voice, although David Bedella’s Lance still stole the show (was he intentionally channelling Dev from Corrie? Hilarious!) and Najah Hetzbergers cover Juliet who was sensational. These are the two things that I have enjoyed most so far this year.

Sweeney Todd on Broadway - it was just the cherry on top of an incredible weekend. The Motive & The Cue via NT Live - Gatiss and Flynn were incredible - Gatiss' Olivier was exceptionally well deserved.

A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. We were in seats which meant we couldn't see a lot of the overall special effects and full staging, but the acting completely drew us in. Sunday Night at the Palladium with Bill Kenwright was a very special night. Blood Brothers will always be in my list - but that is just for very personal reasons now. I withdraw my Dream, and raise you 'Boys From The Blackstuff'. Absolutely superb - the cast, direction, production, everything! Till 11th May at the Royal Court Liverpool, then transferring to London to the National Theatre, and then into the Garrick. Go see it if you can, you won't regret it!

Not seen many this year.
- The Little Big Things - Come From Away UK tour - Mrs Doubtfire - Guys & Dolls - Lion King
I must say, The Little Big Things so far is definately my nr 1. Even just in general out of all musicals I've seen so far. It was so touching, emotional, yet funny in the right places, and the cast absolutely amazing. After we got back we booked again the next day to see it 4 days before it ended (twice within 3 weeks).

- Mincemeat (took me a while to finally get around to it!) - Much Ado at The Globe (was shocked at how many full-audience laughs throughout the whole thing. great experience) - Stranger Things (loved seeing how much it has changed since previews)
